The weather today is similar to yesterday but with slightly less wind so the aid station & finish line will again be under the road bridge. You can collect your race numbers from 7.50am with a compulsory race brief at 8.20am follwed by mass walk to the start.

Don’t miss the brief & walk to the start as the start is in a different location to normal due to the weather.

From yesterdays post :

Good evening fans

We have been monitoring the weather forecast all day with regards to the weekend races & whilst it is going to be wet & windy we are looking to proceed with the events.

With the conditions forecast we are making a few changes to both Saturday & Sunday. We will be moving race HQ beneath the road that goes across the dual carriageway & the races will also finish underneath that bridge.

The start will move & we will be going anti-clockwise - the laps remain the same it's just the starting point & finish line that will be moving.

The half marathon will be identical to the marathon for the start & 3 laps - at the end of the the 3rd full lap runners will turn 180 degrees run to the "Turn point sign" & turn 180 degrees again & return to finish under the bridge in the same direction as the marathon runners. everyone will finish in the same direction running in front of the hotel on your right & lake on your left.

Please come prepared for the weather, please bring adequate clothing, gloves, hats, waterproofs & bring a change of clothing & a towel for when you finish. Bags can be stored under the brige on slanted banking & careful positioning should ensure they stay dry. Those who are driving can of course use your cars for sgtorage too the car park is very close to the route.

You may wish to consider travel times may be affected by the weather.

We look forward to seeing you. 🦊

Many congratulations to everyone who joined us for today’s Marathon, Half Marathon & 50km.

Today’s champagne moments saw Clive Hearn complete his 500th lifetime marathon (26.2 miles or more 500 times - that’s not a typo !)

Alexsander flew in (Wizz air rather than by X-Wing) from Poland to make his Marathon debut & Maxine Le Cappelain made her marathon debut too 😎

Please feel free to help yourselves to photos for your blogs & socials, tag yourselves in if you wish ?

We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow for our Deja Vu event which covers that title in every possible way !!!

Here are your provisional race results :

Good morning here are your Friday, Saturday & Sunday race notes

Please collect your race numbers from the gazebo behind the car park, race registration will open at 7.45 am on each day. At 8.20 we will have a compulsory race brief (4 people turned up & started late they missed this in October & went wrong way - the only 4 people to do so !!) will walk to the start line following the brief for an 8.30am start.

Car parking is free, there will be two portable toilets on site for your use. The pub is currently closed for a refurbishment.

Please ensure your number is displayed on your front so it’s visible for lap counting purposes.

The route will be our clockwise route so a short section followed by 7 full laps for the marathon & the Half will run the same starting section followed by 3 full laps & an out & back to finish - the turn around point will be marked.

For the half the start will be identical followed by 3 full laps. At the end of the 3 full laps you continue until you see two “O” s in flour on the ground) You will then turn 180 degrees & return to the finish flag for your 13.1 miles.

Water will be provided in sealed 500 ml bottles for you to help yourself too.

Bags can be left around the gazebo area, but not in the gazebo as they just become a trip hazzard. In the event of rain a bin liner is a great bit of kit. The car park is just a few yards off the course too.
Please ensure your number is worn on your front to ensure we tick you off for the correct number of laps.

We are guests of MK parks trust. The park is an open park & there will be members of the public fishing, cycling, walking their dogs etc .. please be courteous to them so we can all enjoy the park & please don’t litter, a bin will be provided at the aid station.

Further event info can be found on the event page of the website :

We are looking forward to seeing all our marathon & half marathoners on Friday & over the weekend.

Friday marks our 100th ever half marathon. We had 11 people for our Night Fever half in August 2010 & 14 & a half years later finally a century of 13.1 milers.

Please collect your race numbers from the gazebo behind the car park, race registration will open at 7.45 am on each day. At 8.20 we will walk to the start line. 8.30am start.

Car parking is free, there will be two portable toilets on site for your use. The pub is currently closed for a refurb.

Please ensure your number is displayed on your front so it’s visible for lap counting purposes, if you are doing more than one day you will wear the same number each day so only need to collect on the first day you are running.

Water will be provided in sealed 500 ml bottles for you to help yourself to.

Bags can be left around the gazebo area, but we can't have them in the ghazebo as they are a trip hazzard. In the event of rain a bin liner is a great bit of kit. The car park is just a few yards off the course too.
Please ensure your number is worn on your front to ensure we tick you off for the correct number of laps & record your time.

We are guests of the parks trust. The park is an open park & there will be members of the public fishing, cycling, walking their dogs etc .. please be courteous to them so we can all enjoy the park & please don’t litter, a bin will be provided at the aid station.

fans

The observant amongst you will have noticed we have opened entries for our fireworks event in November but we have nothing on our schedule for October !

We have been working on a new design for a few weeks without really been able to get precisely what we want until now !! (We are still tweeking the ribbon design a little bit). Hopefully you like it ?

October sees the 40th anniversary of the 1985 film Back to the Future & it seems wrong not to acknowledge that.

You’ll need a Delorean to travel 10 months.

I’ve already seen the race results in my Sports Almanac - congratulations everyone 😉

This will be a very limited edition event, you can’t really celebrate a 40th anniversary 41 years after the event 😉 There will be 2 Marathons, a half marathon & a 5km something for everyone 😎

Hoping to have the physical medals in our hand by Dec 20th & we’ll open up entries for you then.

The event will be on the lakeside paths of Caldecotte Lake because……. “Roads ? Where we’re going we don’t need roads” 🔥

Got my typewriter out 😉Congratulations again to everyone who took part today 😎🦊
