🎭 DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR ACTORS 🎭

🎭 DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR ACTORS 🎭

🌟 We are delighted to announce a new programme of semi-regular opportunities and workshops for actors based in Scotland!

🗣️🤸‍♀️ The first workshop will be 'Text and Movement' led by actor, writer and mover, Nat McCleary on Sat 27th July

The workshop will consist of series of exercises which will allow participants to experiment in listening to the body’s impulses. These exercises will allow participants the chance to play around with text to identify the natural “voice” of their own physicality and learn how to allow it to consciously contribute to performance with text

These opportunities are free but limited, spaces will be offered via our casting mailing list. Info about the first workshop with Nat McCleary will be shared for sign up, tomorrow at 1pm

Thank you to everyone who came along to the screening of Why Not Scotland? on Saturday - and to our panel members, Richard Smith, Dominic Ashmole - Scottish Greens, Abi Mordin, Andy Wilson of Borders Forest Trust and Huw Connick of Connicks. Their responses to audience questions were thoughtful, considered, balanced and heartfelt. It was a great event and we're looking forward to the next outing of the What If? Film Club.

Message us if you'd like to be added to our mailing list to stay in touch with our programme!

If you're in the Moffat/Upper Annandale area, Make/Change Collective are screening Why Not Scotland? - a feature-length documentary which forms a central part of the Scottish Rewilding Alliance’s Rewilding Nation campaign.

The film accompanies Flo, a young Scot from Glasgow, as she seeks out examples of nature recovery around Europe. She discovers places where nature is making a spectacular comeback, breathing life back into the landscape and revitalising human communities. Encouraged by these stories of hope and renewal, she is prompted to wonder: Why Not Scotland?

We're having two screenings - 5.30pm and 7.30pm. The 7.30pm screening of the film will be followed by a discussion involving rewilding practitioners and policy makers from Southern Scotland. Free to attend (donations always welcome).

Book online here: https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/makechange-collective-cic or by using the QR code on the image.

**Creative Opportunity - Deadline for applications is Wednesday 22 May at 5pm.**

Applications are now open for the next round of New Producers, Film Hub Scotland's training programme for people who’d like to better understand how to produce film events for audiences in Scotland.

The New Producers programme aims to increase the number of marginalised people working for cinemas and festivals within Scotland. This includes those marginalised due to race, gender, sexuality, age, class, and disability. This comes from a recognition that these identities are not adequately represented within the Scottish screen industry.

The programme offers a placement of four months, based at a host organisation (Dundee Contemporary Arts (DCA), Scottish Q***r International Film Festival (SQIFF), Scottish Mental Health Arts Film Festival or Take One Action). The placement is offered part-time at the real living wage of £12 per hour. Each role is offered for four months, 3 days per week, 8 hour days.

Applications are now open for New Producers, our training programme for people who’d like to better understand how to produce film events for audiences.

Join Make/Change Collective at the Studio Theatre for Why Not Scotland? - a feature-length documentary which forms a central part of the Scottish Rewilding Alliance’s Rewilding Nation campaign.

The film accompanies Flo, a young Scot from Glasgow, on an intensely personal journey, as she seeks out examples of nature recovery around Europe. Like many of her generation, Flo is concerned by the state of nature and fearful about an uncertain future. However, during her travels, she discovers places where nature is making a spectacular comeback, breathing life back into the landscape and revitalising human communities. Encouraged by these stories of hope and renewal, she is prompted to wonder: Why Not Scotland?

Starring Flo Blackbourn. Produced and directed by Mat Larkin. Executive producer Peter Cairns. Assistant producer Tierney Lloyd.

The 7.30pm screening of the film will be followed by a discussion involving rewilding practitioners and policy makers from Southern Scotland.

Join us on Monday 6th May and help us package up seeds for Moffat Seed Library! It's a great chance for a good blether while doing something good for our communities.

Bring your own saved seed if you have them to spare, bring home baking to share if you like (we'll be bringing our famous rhubarb and custard cake!), but mostly, just bring yourself!
