Meet your International Students' Officer Albena! (she/her)
The International Students' Officer role is responsible for representing the interests of all international students as Newcastle University. They actively seek feedback from international students and act as their representative voice.
Albena went for this position, as they knew the role offered a very direct way of improving the student experience, especially that of underrepresented groups and they want to improve the communication between international students and the SU and the University!

A Nationally Ranked Institution.

Welcome to Newcastle University Students’ Union. Since the completion of our Grade II listed building in 1924, we have acted as a social and democratic hub for generations of students. We hope to achieve the same for you.

In 2010 the Student’s Union received a substantial £8 million donation from the University to refurbish the building and create a contemporary, purpose-built student space, integrating historical architecture with modern design. Now complete with a cutting-edge event space, 24-hour computer cluster, two Starbucks cafés, and the recently updated Luther’s Bar (named after the late Martin Luther King Jr, who visited the University in 1967), we are perfectly equipped to support your every need.

In addition to social and study spaces, we are home to a number of departments with the purpose of guiding and enriching your University career. Our Student Advice Centre staff are available to offer financial and academic advice, while Go Volunteer are at hand to boost your CV with a range of voluntary opportunities to get involved with.
