The Contenders brand was launched by Steve Newman in 2013 after running a series of individual shows during 2012. With a love for combat sports, which now boasts some of the worlds’ most popular athletes, Steve’s mission as a promoter was to produce a top-quality show for MMA, K1 and Boxing.

Steve has always been interested in pushing local and regional talent and wanted to bring a large arena event to the region giving our up and coming fighters the feel of a big show.

Not only this, those attending the event get to experience an electric atmosphere which is both a stylish and exciting night out.
