A lot of people ask us where we are.

It’s on the crossroads so opposite also opposite and across the road from , down the road from Nottingham Motorpoint Arena

This is where we are, technically this building is known as and the upstairs event room is The Old Bus Depot

This side door is the one we use for people coming and going to gigs. If you ever want to stop by then buzz lobby or co-working space and we can show you around. (Or message us here in advance preferably so we can make sure we’re free to give you the tour).

We are a community arts space.

We have offices for creatives to rent. Some of our current tenants are Hockley Hustle , Acoustickle and .

We have a recording studio ( .notts ) used for all the @ projects and Records that you can hire out. We’ve an events space upstairs that is also available to hire for workshops ( we have children’s subsidised music lessons via Nottingham Music Hub ) ,dance (Capoeria on Thursdays) & regular acting classes ran by

We host regular gigs ran by I'M NOT FROM LONDON & guest promoters RAMMEL CLUB and many more promoters/bands hire the space if they want to put their own nights on. All the events have a licensed bar and we serve a variety of beverages from all around the known world (mainly Red Stripe,Guinness (alc and 0%),Strongbow, Punk IPA and more spirits than Poltergeist #2.

We have a gallery space downstairs that’s currently exhibiting the ‘Wild Women’ collection by Sugar Stealers and soon we’ll have a cafe and downstairs bar. It’s all very exciting.

We have a downstairs car park for tenants and our nearest car park is about 2 mins walk away : Pemberton St, Nottingham NG1 1GS which charges £1 per hour, £5 till 6pm, £4 for the evening or £7 for 24 hours (they only take coins in the machine).

One day soon we’ll have a sign that will draw people to our venue like revelling moths to a musical flame.

For now these photos will have to suffice.

So now you know 😉

Man Up Man Down: FREE Poetry, Spoken Word and Music Production Workshops For All Men.

Come join us at Fishergate Point Studios in Nottingham, UK for an exciting event designed exclusively for men.
During an unusually open discussion in between World Cup matches being shown at a Nottingham bar back in 2018, it became obvious to us that most men in our group had, at some point, had issues with their mental health. The seeds were sown to make an application to the National Lottery Reaching Communities Fund to provide support through Arts and wellbeing sessions.
Happily, eventually, we have now been successful in securing the funding to deliver these sessions and the Man Up, Man Down project is here !!

The first sessions that we will be introducing are a poetry/spoken word workshop and a music production workshop. They will be delivered in the community space and the HOAM recording studio in the same building.

All the workshops are free of charge, but spaces are limited so please only book your space if you can definitley attend via the link in the .up.mandown insta bio

Meet The Workshop Leaders:
Chris Oliver shares his wisdom and outlook on life using Spoken Word. His insights are thought provoking and heart felt, drawing on his personal experiences growing up in Nottingham.
Neo Hannan is a British Born Artist, Producer and Songwriter. He began to grow an interest in poetry and music at the age of 13. Over the years of developing his artistry, NEO started to look deeper into spirituality and aims to use music as a means of healing which has influenced his art to take more of a devotionally inspired approach.

Location: Fishergate Point Studios, Fisher Gate, Nottingham, UK
Days: Every Tuesday
Times: 7:30pm - 9:30pm

The group can be defined by their gritty political lyrics and raucous sound as well as their ability to not take themselves too seriously. You might find yourself deciding wether to mosh or shake your ass, as they aim to make each show a sweaty affair with their genre fusing, high energy performances.’

Lovely words about our venue from LeftLion Magazine Nottingham poss the first we’ve had in print, hope to see you all there on Sunday for the Hockley Hustle!

‘Arriving too early, I had a convivial visit to The King Billy, Nottingham and then made my way over to The Old Bus Depot. I’d not been before and heard it was hard to find. It wasn’t.
The door was open and staff were waiting to greet me. A DIY venue in much the same way as JT Soar, only bigger. Technical problems with the complexities of Thomas’s unusual equipment delayed the start but not badly. Comfy chairs in the entrance kept everyone happy as more people arrived. This was going to be one of those gigs were everyone had either seen him or knew of his music. ‘
- words and photos by LeftLion Magazine Nottingham’s Michael Prince

Check out the full article link in the comments and read about the fantastic artists Thomas Truax , Dusty 4 Track and Hex Undone

See you all soon! X

I’m Not From London presents …

Fri 6th October (TONIGHT!)

CHEMTRAILS!!
* * * * * * * * * * *

The post-garage-punk and psychedelic power pop anomaly that is started out as the DIY bedroom recording project of romantic partners Mia Lust and Laura Orlova, evolving into a full band in 2016.
Their uncanny talent for blasting out weird but irresistibly catchy pop songs was quickly noticed by Swedish label PNKSLM Recordings, who signed them just after their first gig — at Trans Pride Brighton.
After relocating from London to Manchester in 2019, Lust and Orlova joined forces with a ferocious new rhythm section, putting the final piece of the puzzle into place. With Ian Kane on bass and Liam Steers on drums, the Chemtrails machine is now souped up with a turbocharged rhythmic engine, propelling the hook-filled songs to new levels of raw power, as the band sashays between sleazy punk, frantic krautrock and sardonically sassy grooves.

Served on a bed of twangy and fuzzy guitars, primitive synths and polychromatic pop, Mia Lust’s tongue-in-cheek lyrics tackle alienation, the absurd, the human condition, the impending apocalypse and, occasionally, her place in the world as a transgender woman woman. The band cites their biggest influences as Pixies, Blondie, Oh Sees, Fat White Family and sixties psych and garage punk, but what has always held the whole project together is the endless supply of catchy melodies, delivered with the band’s relentless excitement and energy.

presents…

A surreal and sublime evening of entertainment featuring….

!!

Thomas Truax (pronounced troo-aks) is an American singer/musician, inventor and multi-media artist.

One of the most imaginative characters on the pop music fringe, since the year 2000 Thomas has been traveling the world performing with his evolving “band” of bizarre self-made Harry Partch-esque instruments including a motorized drum machine made of bike wheels called ‘Mother Superior’ and a pimped-up Dr. Seuss-ian Gramophone called ‘The Hornicator’, as well as his venerable resonator guitar ‘Hank’. Time Out magazine has dubbed him “The king of home-made instruments” while Splendid magazine called him “one of the five or ten best singer/songwriters in the world that you’ve never heard of…an exceptional talent, unique and resistant to comparison, yet fairly accessible even to casual listeners.”

Truax crafts rich, poetically evocative songs about insects, trees, technology, and a lifelong obsession with things lunar, including various reasons ‘Why Dogs Howl at The Moon’. Notable supporters and collaborators include Jarvis Cocker, Duke Special, Richard Hawley, James Smith of Yard Act, Bob Log III, the Dresden Dolls and the late author Terry Pratchett. His latest album ‘Dream Catching Songs‘ features drummer Budgie of the Slits, Siouxsie & The Banshees et al. was released in 2023.
