The Cattle barn has been adapted since this photo… but does it look fab buzzing with people celebrating!! Now we have a lovely opening looking over to East Hill. This year we are landscaping the field directly outside and hopefully get some trees in come autumn!

A new week and this time different AI, this one is Artificial insemination preparation. This is a process where the cows are hormonally synchronised, we can then do AI all at the same time. Only 12 heifers so it makes sense to do them all together. These young cows are having AI as they are the daughters of our main herd bull, we are using a Stabiliser breed chosen for its small calves perfect for first time calving. If AI is unsuccessful and they don’t get pregnant, these heifers can then go in with the new bull ‘ Idris’ who will hopefully do his job!

Great outdoor volunteer positions.
Please share

We are a working livestock farm supporting alternative education for students. We are looking for caring, countryside loving volunteers to help support our staff. This will allow us to offer more places to individuals to attend the farm at a time where funding is reducing but the need is increasing.
Can you offer a day a week to join us on the farm? Due the the type of work, we do ask for volunteers to be over 25, and must pass a DBS check.

The flooding & lightning 🌩️ storm wiped out our internet and it took a while to get it all fixed. Sadly due to poor coverage, a metal roof barn and huge thick stone walls we don’t get 4 or even 3 g on my phone either. Everything in our small rural business relies on this poor out of date dodgy wire …. We are lucky if we get 1mb

Farewell Knights Farm Shop ❤️

We would like to thank all of the customers who have supported Knights Farm Shop over the years – through multiple road closures, staff shortages and a pandemic! For many of our customers, the friendly face across the counter, mixed with a great cup of coffee and a chat was a highlight of their day - and it was to us too.

We appreciate every customer, member of staff or other small businesses that we have had the pleasure of working with and we wish you all the best 😃

Today, we shut the doors of Knights Farm Shop for the last time – but we hope that our customers will continue to support us by ordering your meat boxes online – and by liking, following and sharing our contents over at Knights Care Farm LLP - where we will continue to support adults and children with learning disabilities, social needs and working with local schools to provide alternative education
