Florist of the Year - The Welsh Independent Retail Awards
On Tuesday 30th April 2019 , Blooming Gorgeous Floristry was awarded FLORIST OF THE YEAR at the Welsh Independent Retail Awards.
In March we received an email from the Welsh Independent Retail Awards stating that we had been nominated as Finalists in the Florist of the Year category. A totally unexpected, but welcomed recognition of the hard work that we have put in over the last year.
We decided to close the shop for 2 days and traveled to Cardiff for the Awards ceremony, we kept an open mind but did not expect to win anything as we were up against nine other Welsh Florists who were well established, so competition was tough.
Our category was announced, I looked at Ed, Ed looked at me, we took a big swig of our Prosecco and waited for the announcement. Due to popular demand and it being a highly sought after award they announced a Highly Commended award, we didn't win this and thought that is it... Then the Finalist was announced... ‘Blooming Gorgeous Floristry’ WOW!! Its really us!!!
