BUTE MANOUCHE PUT ON HOLD
Bute Manouche, the Bute jazz festival which celebrates the work of Django Reinhardt, has been put on hold for 2024 but it will be back with a bang in 2025.
Tim Saul, chairman of Bute Jazz Concerts commented: Since we started this popular event in 2019 other festivals featuring similar genres of music have arrived on the scene."
He continued: "Compared with venues in England the Isle of Bute is a relatively remote location and we feel it is a long way for even the most ardent Reinhardt enthusiast to travel on an annual basis.
"We plan to be back in October 2025 with the fourth Bute Manouche which will feature a variety of bands and soloists which will do justice to Django's great legacy."
In the mean time Bute Jazz Concerts is aiming to promote a small number of Sunday afternoon concerts which will keep jazz music alive on the west coast of Scotland.
