This year’s Christmas in Saxmundham event looks to be even bigger and better. All are welcome to attend.

With the lantern procession starting at Saxmundham Primary School at 4.30pm - after their annual Christmas Bazaar finishes - it will arrive in the High Street shortly before 5pm for the big Lights Switch-on and an evening of Christmas Carols and festive celebration. In the High Street, there will be a BBQ and refreshments as well as other stalls. Santa’s Grotto will be up and running in the Market

Hall for which tickets are on sale at H.G. Crisps in the High Street from Saturday 18th November at a cost of £3 each. Do book early to avoid disappointment! This year, the Town Council is running a competition for all children aged between 4 and 11 who would like to write a poem in return for the opportunity to switch on the Christmas lights. Entries must be in by Friday 24th November. They can be submitted to either HG Crisp or via the Town Clerk; [email protected]

Road Closure along the High Street is planned from 4:30 pm to 9:00 pm.

Christmas in Saxmundham on Saturday 2nd December

This year’s Christmas in Saxmundham event looks to be even bigger and better. To try to give the town centre a consistent approach to decoration over the Christmas period, we are suggesting that you put up your tree around the last weekend in November (28th to 30th) with lights to be switched on from Monday 1st December. Thanks for the likes today; Don't miss the traditional lantern parade from 5.15 at the church and lights being switched on at 5.30pm. Lots of fun for the kids, meet Father Christmas, ride on a pony and trap or steam train, fairground rides, delicious local and home made produce to buy
