Don't Go into the Cellar present Jekyll and Hyde - Friday 24th May
In a new and enthralling one-man stage adaptation of the classic tale of terror, acclaimed actor Jonathan Goodwin plays both Henry Jekyll and Edward Hyde. Journey with us to Victorian London, and experience the unbridled horror of this perennial favourite. The City is paralyzed with fear when the repugnant and wicked Mr Hyde embarks upon his criminal spree. But what is his shocking secret, and what possible connection can he have with the dour and respectable Dr Jekyll?
Goodwin performs in a show scripted by himself and co-directed by Goodwin and Gary Archer.

The Zoo that Comes to You comes to Lightwoods House this Summer!

The Zoo That Comes To You follows the impassioned attempts of two animal enthusiasts to share their love of and concern for animals with the world. They take in animals that need respite, care or a temporary home and have, accidentally, ended up with a sanctuary full of animals. However, no-one has come to visit their zoo! So everybody – animals and humans alike – have decided it is time to get out, see the world, and bring the zoo, to you.

Come and meet this eclectic group of charming yet cheeky animals, as they discuss their life experiences and the challenges they face in a rapidly changing world dominated by humans. These animals have a lot to say and want to inspire people of all ages to take action, because they know small actions can make a big difference in the world.

Featuring puppetry, live music and playful characters, Scarlet Oak Theatre welcomes you to join the conversation about animal conservation.

Running time 60mins. Suitable for ages 5+ but we welcome younger audiences and unaccompanied grownups.

Don't miss graduating students from Royal Birmingham Conservatoire perform Much Ado About Nothing in the Shakespeare Garden this June

Much Ado About Nothing is a delightful romantic comedy that deals with love, deception, and the wit of verbal sparring. Set in the Sicilian town of Messina, the play follows the romantic entanglements of two couples: the sharp-witted Beatrice and the witty Benedick, and the more naively romantic Hero and Claudio. The plot is set in motion by the villainous Don John, who seeks to disrupt the marriages through deceit and false accusations.

Please note that this is an all weather performance and will only be cancelled in the event of severe weather. Guests are advised to wear sunscreen and suitable attire.

From curtain up there is trouble. When Gerald’s juggling partner walks out on him, he asks the agency to find a suitable replacement. Enter Wallace – cue chaos. With Wallace around, Gerald will need all his years of show business experience to keep the show on track.
