Roynon have been established for almost 40 years now, meaning that we have taught generations within our community in a range of genres and styles. For dance specifically, this includes Tap, Ballet, Modern, Contemporary, Jazz, Acro, Commercial and Hip-Hop, as well as new, popular classes for toddlers (Mimbies) and Boys class. The drama and music faculties have grown in recent years and now include instrumental tuition, professional vocal training, Musical Theatre, recording techniques, stage direction, script writing and much, much more. We follow recognised syllabus including ISTD, Acrobatic Arts, Progressing Ballet Technique, Trinity and Rock School. Roynon Performing Arts genuinely CARE about each and every student. RPA strive to make every learning experience meaningful and contribute towards the learning journey of a student. We have a DEDICATED, QUALIFIED and EXPERIENCED teaching team and are also extremely proud to have built a bank of INDUSTRY CONTACTS who regularly come to our school and guest teach for workshops and other special events. Our students are also given unique performance opportunities at local events, private functions and even a-list celebrity events. 💥 We had our Tapathon rehearsal today in preparation for Sunday November 17th and everyone did fantastically! Everyone learnt this years routine which is to Spice girls!

🫶🏻We have 28 Tappers joining us in raising money for Children in Need and attempting to break a World Record too!

🤍If you’re not sure whether to take part in our Winter Showcase this year, here’s a quick countdown as to why you definitely should!

One of the best things is to hang out and have fun with friends and family, especially at this time of year! The Winter Showcase is a great opportunity for students and parents alike to catch up, share what they’ve been up to in class on stage and be a part of a lovely coming together at Roynon. By sharing the experience together, lifelong core memories will be most certainly created and be supported by our nurturing and inspiring school…

The Winter Showcase is a great time in which to showcase, share and celebrate progression and the skills and tricks that have been learnt in the studio. There is no point in creative arts without sharing so this is a really great opportunity for students of all ages and abilities. However it’s also a great moment for parents and carers to have a sneak peek into what is going on in class. We are immensely proud of our performance opportunities in the school - this is a great event where each and every student can show off their talents and celebrate their hard work!

The Winter Showcase can act as a fantastic stepping stone towards other performances, events and learning. The show is a far more relaxed and intimate environment so is a great tool to get students ready for the next Whole School Show and also make sure those performance skills are retained and proven to a guaranteed audience. And of course, like all other Roynon shows, the Winter Showcase serves as a unique opportunity to support and improve key life skills, including concentration, perseverance, public speaking, coordination, motor skill and much more.

If spooky isn’t your thing then wear your favourite hair accessories!

💫We are very proud to be able to offer ISTD exams and we thought it would be nice to share the information we know about exams with you!

💙The ISTD suggest a certain number of hours study per grade before exams are considered and the figures are quite surprising!

🤍They include guided study time which is time with the teacher and personal home study is also expected...

Grade 1, 2 & 3 - 60 hours guided and 10 home study
Grade 4 & 5 - 75 hours guided and 20 home study
Grade 6 - 90 hours guided and 40 home study

🩵As most of our classes are 45 minutes, you can see that the expectations are high, especially considering we only dance 38 weeks per year. It also shows that practise at home is very much needed!

🩶There is lots of planning going on behind the scenes for the next sessions and we will be emailing everything you need to know shortly.

⭐️WHAT A TEAM WE HAVE⭐️ 💫We had an incredible Team Training meet today packed full of important info, teacher CPD and announcements. 💫I’m so grateful for all the hard work our team puts in, especially behind the scenes in order to make the school as great as it is. We’ve 100% got an incredibly skilful, approachable and experienced teacher squad. 🔥 What an opening Gala that was for our local theatre, Fareham Live! ❤️A massive congratulations to all the team at Fareham Live and Trafalgar on a terrific opening night! We are very lucky to have so many theatres right on our doorstep with such a rich, cultural offering with vibrant shows being attracted. Roynon Performing Arts are an established, dedicated performing arts school, delivering over 60 classes, workshops, performances and professional support for dance, music, drama and theatre in the Swanmore / Bishops Waltham (Hants, UK) areas. Teachers hold a range of qualifications including ISTD, PBT, Acrobatic Arts and QTS (as well as primary and secondary teaching experience). Arts classes cater for all ages and abilities (ages 3 - 80). Roynon now also offer a talent agency in partnership with an industry heavyweight in order to support local talent with TV, radio and film work.
