Who We Are…
The SMILE Fringe, a unique event that will be bringing creatives and communities together in spaces and venues across Southampton city centre. On the weekend of 3-4th March, venues and spaces all across the city will play host to the SMILE Fringe, a community and arts focused event. Working in partnership with Southampton City Council, Solent University, The Marlands, The Cellar, SoC
o, and a whole host of other venues, artists and community groups, the event will run a programme of live music, art, film, comedy events and workshops over the two days. The main aim of the event is to give a platform for creatives and local community groups to showcase their work and also to promote themselves within the community. The team behind the event felt that the wealth of creativity and hard-working community based groups in the city needed to be shown off and so the SMILE Fringe was born. This event is run under Solent Universities SMILE (Solent Music Industry Live Events) week, a week long event that includes guest speakers and live events across the city. Charity & CIC involvment…
We are proud to be working with Oxfam Music Southampton and The Art House with live acts throughout the weekend along with various arts and crafts workshops. They will both be collecting donations in house over the weekend, so please go down and have a chat with the lovely staff and please donate whatever you can to two of Southamptons finest community focused companies.
