Firstly my apologies for not posting sooner. It has been a priority this week to make the area secure and to initiate the structural survey.

I wanted to personally thank all of the Stokenchurch community for their support after the terrible fire at the hotel on Friday 8th October. In particular my thanks go to Coffee on the Green for opening its doors to the incredibly brave firefighters who fought the fire throughout the weekend.

I would also like to credit the hotel staff who evacuated the building calmly & efficiently. The team are now working on finding alternative venues for all the events which were booked in for the remainder of this year and into 2022.

I must stress that along with the parish council it has been agreed that the car park remains closed until the safety of the building has been signed off.

It’s going to take a little time but we will be sure to keep everyone informed as we work through the process of insurance and planning for the future of The Kings Hotel

Also had a groupon booking. Although our room was miniscule ( must have had the previous reviewers cast off) I cannot fault this hotel. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. All staff very friendly & helpful. I would call the restaurant a "Gastro Pub" with tables in the main bar & some more discrete tables. The HB 3 course evening meal had good & varied choices however, you could opt for A La Carte & an allowance of 18 person given.The food was excellent & served by attentive professional staff. I would be delighted to return soon.Our room 233 was a very good size & very well prepared, probably not suited to a " light sleeper " as the kitchen vent fan was close by. After reading other reviews, we were a bit sceptical after booking an online offer. We went and stayed on a night that the hotel was fully booked. After horrendous drive, we left motorway and almost immediately saw this hotel. What a lovely place. Excellent service, friendly and efficient. Roast dinner was top quality, try the pork especially if you like crackling. No inflated motorway service prices etc. https://bit.ly/23janhU
