Caisealrag Cottage at Crear is perfect for two, just you. Should you wish to invite upto four guests, we have two guest rooms in the cottage annex with its own private entrance. A maximum of six guests in total are permitted to stay plus children under five.
With nearly 200 acres surrounding Caisealrag Cottage fully licensed, you can decide on the day where to marry. Take your vows on a sandy beach or the site of an ancient fort looking out to the Isles of Gigha, Islay & Jura with the Irish Coast on the horizon. If the weather is unkind the cottage warmed by the woodburning stove is wonderfully romantic.
Chose who you wish to invite as your marriage celebrant. Humanist Weddings are legal in Scotland. South Knapdale Parish Church at Achahoish & St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Lochgilphead are very welcoming to those out with the Parish. Divorcées are welcome to remarry in the Church of Scotland.
Anyone who is free to get married can legally marry in Scotland. All your legal marriage paperwork, regardless of who is conducting your marriage ceremony, is processed by the local registrar in Lochgilphead.
If you are travelling with a non-EU passport, you may require to apply for a marriage visa from the UK Boarder Agency as purpose of visit to enter the UK.
Getting here is simple. There are more flights from London to Glasgow than any other route in the world. You can leave your desk at the end of a Friday & arrive for a late evening supper.
Caisealrag is just over a two hour drive from Glasgow, situated on the Crear Estate, a working sheep farm, 14 miles along the single track B8024 coastal road. Sandy beaches are a few moments walk with views to the Islands of Gigha, Islay & Jura with the coast of Ireland on the horizon.
