Yes folks, Saturday 28th I'll be up at The Store Bistro & Bar for a wee bit of karaoke and criac. Pop along for what will be a brilliant night.

The rest of December we have something fun for everyone each weekend. Kicking off this Friday with our all you can eat buffet and Christmas quiz by the famous quiz mistress Iona then Saturday with an all you can eat Indian theme and music by the Newtons

Our usual menu will be available for dine in or takeaway 9-6.30 this Friday and Saturday with a half hour switch around to lay out the buffet and banquet at 7pm.

We will be open everyday as always - Christmas Day, Boxing Day, Hogmanay, 1st & 2nd hours will be advertised in due course but rest assured we will always be open.

So I've been a bit quiet this week with posts as I've been busy with Christmas Parties with the disco, so thought I would give you all a quick update.

First off, both fayres are fully booked out with exhibitors, and I'm running a waiting list in case any spaces become available.

This means you have a wide range of different companies displaying their services. Make up artists to hotels and photographers to mobile bars, there will be plenty to see.

You will also hear about the fayres on your local radio station, Caithness FM. Listen in on your radio or online for the sponsorship add to find out more about they fayres.

The Wick fayre opens at 11am on Sunday 19th January, so brides and grooms put that date in your diary and I'll see you there.

Yes folks, that is every table at both wedding fayres full.
Thanks to each and everyone of the businesses who have chosen to not only exhibit, but in doing so are supporting the 2 groups that are being supported by the fayres.

I'm delighted to say that the booth fayres are almost full, with just a couple of completed booking forms needing to be returned.
I know there are other businesses that might still want to exhibit, so I'm making up a waiting list for is any space become available. If they do, the spaces will be allocated on:
• First come, first served
• Business / Service based in Caithness & Sutherland
• Up to 2 of each type of service exhibiting

NORTH COAST WEDDING FAYRE

Another aim of the fayre is to raise funds for local groups. These fayres are going to be raising funds 2 local groups
• The Edge
• Sea Cadets Thurso

I have seen firsthand what both of these groups do and how they help develop kids and how important the groups are to the kids that attend them.

The extremely talented kids in Edge Competition team travels thousands of miles each year to compete at the highest level competition in Scotland and the UK. Travel to these competitions isn't and usually involves long bus trips between Caithness and the cental belt, or twice a year a long train journey down to Blackpool. All this Travel isn't cheap, and is largely paid for by the families of the kids who compete.

Their share of the money raised will go toward subsidising the cost of travel for these families.

NORTH COAST WEDDING FAYRE

Another aim of the fayre is to raise funds for local groups. These fayres are going to be raising funds 2 local groups

• Sea Cadets Thurso

I have seen firsthand what both of these groups do and how they help develop kids and how important the groups are to the kids that attend them.

Sea Cadets Thurso is a youth organisation based on the values of the Royal Navy. The unit in Thurso opened in 1962 and are currently based in their building, located on the east side of Thurso Harbour.

The dedicated staff of volunteer instructors provided a wide variety of training to kids from 10 to 17 years old, which varies from rowing and sailing to catering and first aid.

Behind the staff is a small team called the Unit Management Team, who help with fundraising, organising legal requirements, and keeping the unit afloat (pun intended).

The unit receives minimal funding from the Navy and must, in essence, be self-supporting. The running costs each year come to £12,000 and all of this has to be paid out of unit funds. In the near futures they would like to upgrade their 50 year old building to make it more energy efficient and provide more modern teaining and comfort facilities.

Their share of the money will go toward their annual running costs.

NORTH COAST WEDDING FAYRE

One of the aims of the fayres is to promote the wedding businesses of the true North Coast - Caithness and Sutherland.

I know firsthand that there is a huge amount of talented wedding businesses in this area that provide the high-quality services that couples are looking for on their big day.

Some of these businesses are well known, and some are not, but they all deserve to show off their talents and let couples know exactly what is on their doorstep.

Support local business - Keep business local - Keep money in the local economy.

Wow, I have to say the response I have had from exhibitors to the fayres has been amazing, I even had 1 business find me in person as soon as he read about it, asking to be included.

The response has been so fantastic that less than 2 weeks after announcing them I am down to just a few tables left at each fayre.

If you are a wedding supplier that wants to exhibit at either or both fayres, then get in touch with me soon. I can see the least remaining tables being snapped up very quickly, and it's first come first served.

What a fantastic night in Wick last night at Wick Gala's Ultimate Dancing Queens Abba tribute act.
Between the fantastic music from the band, including in their suprise non Abba set, the energy of the crowd, and the fabulous photos you all took at the photo booth, I for one went home buzzing.
Thanks to everyone who came along to support the brilliant Wick Gala committee and their fundraising efforts.

Feel free to share this post about the North Coast Wedding Fayre far and wide.
Also if you know of any businesses that might want to exhibit, feel free to tag them. But just so everyone is aware, to ensure there is a variety of businesses exhibiting, I am only limiting the amount of exhibitors who offer the same service to 2 or 3 per Fayre.
