The Wiltshire Parent Carer Council have a survey running for working parents, to help understand the need of holiday care for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

If you are a working parent and struggle for appropriate childcare during school holidays, please take the time to fill in the very quick survey… change will never happen if you don’t express where it’s needed.

Results from this survey will be used to allocate their resources to develop provision where most needed.
This survey will run until June 17th 2024. (TOMORROW)

Hey everyone.
Firstly thank you all for being very patient with me through May.
Unfortunately the issues I was facing are still going on, some of you may have worked it out by now. Although the issues haven’t changed, I managed to have the time through May to process what was going on and took the time to priorities my family around these changes. Once i cleared my head, I got myself back on my feet raring to go and have planned, organised, booked all sorts of exciting things, not just for June, but July and THE ENTIRE summer holidays!!

Tonight I will be uploading the June sessions.

Westwood scarecrow trail now running for the half term… see how many musicals you can work out! (We’ve had some input in making the Social club’s scarecrow)

Catching to with what I’ve been slacking on. We had another wonderful (albeit quiet) session at Funway at the start of the month.
Although we had some cheekiness over the balls this time.

UPDATE-
Please be patient with me…..
A lot goes on behind the scenes at Kay-OSS, and unfortunately that secret behind the scenes team has come across some issues recently.
This could impact things slightly, such as food at events may differ slightly, or less helpers to set up meaning they take a bit longer etc …
So please continue to show your support but remember I’m currently a 1 person team!

As a result I’ve unfortunately had to make some tricky decisions this month. I just can’t manage the planned May half term SEN session on my own, too many involving factors for that particular session as well as juggling my own family commitments. It’s not cancelled, we will reschedule it …(we still have spaces for tomorrow at Funways, and I have a family day/Sale happening on the 26th) … but I need to take this short half term and reset, spend some time with my family and come back to you all for Junes Sessions with some fresh energy.

I hope you can all understand and appreciate, life gets on top of all of us occasionally.

Not many picture at all today, a very quiet session (last minute cancellations due to illnesses), too dark to get decent pictures and also all being far too excited for our tiny Kay-OSS friend 👶

The Royal United Hospitals Bath Paediatric department is running an event called “Teddy Bear Hospital” on Saturday 15th June. We are inviting primary school children from the surrounding area to bring their poorly teddy to the “Teddy Bear Hospital” and join us for a day of exciting and educational health-related activities, crafts and games. This will include looking inside a real ambulance and getting teddy’s broken arm plastered!
The aim of this event is to help alleviate children’s fear of hospitals as well as being a fun, educational day for children and parents!

I have been so busy the last couple days, and very frustratingly my phone battery is definitely on its way out, it’s spending more time on charge then being productive!
I promise I will catch up with all messages after today’s session.

Yesterdays MESSY session, but lots of fun. Not many pictures, because believe it or not I was actullay getting my hands dirty too for once!

Lots of fantastic air drying hedgehogs when home and lots of sticky peanut butter bird feeders. (Did you know bird seed is natures equivalent to glitter…I’m sure it multiplied every time I put the dustpan and brush away!)
Make shift bug hotels and planting seeds to take home.
A massive thank you to those that attended and helped to plant up our now very beautiful planter which we donated to Westwood Social Club. I hope it’s enjoyed by all that visit.

What a lovely afternoon spent at Arty Kids Pottery Painting today for not 1, but 2 SEN sessions. Some beautiful designs at the end of both sessions.
Limited photos due to consent restrictions (and my own small human struggling today so using my phone!)
Thank you to the shop for allowing us to trial a SEN session, I’m really happy with how it went and hope to be able to do them again ☺️

Fridays Spiderman session was absolutely fantastic, if not a little chaotic!
There was laughing and running, dancing and posing, bubbles and balloons, story time and crafts… it was all going on!
I think all children were engaged pretty much the entire time, it was fab.
Spiderman brought some fantastic energy to the session!

What fantastic fun. Lots of dancing, lots of running around, some new faces and lots of familiar ones. LOTS of Easter eggs, and not even 1 was for me!
Thank you to all that joined us for some disco fun today.
That’s the first of six Easter holiday sessions done. Looking forward to the next one already.

The Christmas Funways Party, the final Funways session of the year! Lots of fun, burning off some energy…. Not quite enough though, poor Santa couldn’t get a word in for all the very excited children when he arrived!
Presents shared and hot chocolates drunk.
Another fantastic time had.
