The best wedding venue!!!

We got married at Anchor Barrow in May 2024 and had the most perfect day, which was helped massively by all the work and preparation of Levi, Rachel and the team. The site is on a stunning hilltop location which our guests loved for canapes, games and getting the full Cornwall experience. We had loads of compliments from our guests, lots of them about the food which lots of people said was the best they had ever had at a wedding.

We had the wedding breakfast, speeches, band and dancing in the barn which looked amazing and helped create a lovely, laid-back and warm atmosphere for everyone.

Overall, an amazing venue and one we would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxed, fun wedding with incredible views and an amazing team on hand to help with the day!

Thanks again Levi, Rachel, Tony, Mikey and everyone else who was there on the day!

Anchor Barrow has added a string to its bow. We are now hosting themed Feast Nights outside of our camping season.

Our first will be a Rustic Spring Feast. It will be an evening filled with delicious seasonal food, local musicians and of course some Cornish tipples.

A new addition to our wedding package is our Silent Disco kit.

This allows you and your guests to party until midnight. Our Live Music curfew of 10:30pm still applies for your Bands, Musicians and DJ's.

The Silent Disco could be used on either the Saturday or the Sunday evening. They can be full of playlists that you have created yourselves.

One of our couples saved their Silent Disco for the Sunday and enjoyed it after a BBQ that we catered for them. The loved the way that it was the finale of their weekend.

Either side of your actual wedding day our amazing Chefs can provide you and your guests with Breakfasts and Evening Meals. The venue is yours for the weekend to utilise however you wish. Brides side Vs Grooms Side Garden games or a day a the beach returning to a Curry Night that you haven't even needed to think about.

The 2023 Wedding Trends that are in-

*WEEKEND WEDDINGS*

Included in the Anchor Barrow Wedding Package is the 3 day exclusive hire. You and your lovely guests can arrive from 0900 on the Friday and depart 2100 on the Monday.

You could incorporate a beach day or some field games. Perranporth beach is a 20 minute walk or 5 minute car journey. We have a full sized football pitch so perhaps a Bride Side Vs Groom Side match. If you prefer something less competitive perhaps a few drinks around a fire pit?

To ensure maximum enjoyment with your guests we encourage the bride and groom to install any decor earlier in the week and take it down the days after the wedding when their guests have gone (although their help is sometime appreciated!).

We can assist you with additional feasts for your guests either side of the wedding. Perhaps a Friday Evening BBQ and a Sunday Brunch.

Why do you only host weddings between September and Mid May?

From Mid May to the end of August we are a Campsite open to the public.

We think that one of the enhancements of having a wedding at Anchor Barrow is the personal, intimate, exclusive use of the site.

Our couples get 3 days exclusive site hire included in the package. The couple and their guests can arrive to camp from 0900 on Friday - 2100 on the Mon. We also allow a day or so either side for them to install/ take down any wedding decor so that they can fully enjoy they wedding weekend.

The 3 day hire provides you and your guests with a little exclusive Cornish break. Around the wedding the site is yours to utilise as you wish.

Children-

Children are so often forgotten about at weddings. Having something in place for children really can enhance a wedding. It is a very long day for them to not have anything structured for them to enjoy.

Imogen and her incredible team at 'Gwarnick Woodland School' offer a Forest School for Weddings Package. They offer bespoke packages at your chosen wedding venue with creative, exciting activities to engage the children on your special day.

They enable the parents to relax, whilst they provide thoughtful, natural crafts, games and skills for your children to enjoy. I would like to highlight that this is not a child care option parents are expected to be around during the session.

The Barrow Bar-

Anchor Barrow has it's own Cornish Stocked Bar. All the Spirits, Mixers and Draught products Beer, Larger and Ipa are all produced locally in small batches. These products are not only selected because we feel passionately about supporting local brewers and distillers. These products are selected because they are amazing some of which are award winning. We work closely with them all to ensure the perfect serves to showcase their products the best way we can. Our couples will have access to the Barrow Bar for the duration of their day post ceremony.

Post Ceremony-

The first drink after the 'I DO'S'. Its a special one! Whether you would like a Cornish Cocktail, a Cornish Cider or a glass of fizz we can make it happen for you.

During the Meal-

There will be plentiful table wine for you and your guests to enjoy whilst experiencing the delicious menu that you have chosen for them.

Speeches-

During the speeches we will ensure every guest has a full glass of Fizz to cheers their way through one of the highlights of every wedding 'The Speeches.'

One final thing on The Barrow Bar- COST-

We wanted to reassure all our couples and guests that just because our bar is stocked with premium local products this does not mean that our bar is unaffordable. It goes without saying that weddings can be costly for couples with everything that comes with wedding planning. However, weddings can also be expensive for guests. Weddings at Anchor Barrow provide guests a place to pitch their own accommodation and a reasonably priced bar.

Four Legged Friends- 🐶 🐾

By choosing a venue like Anchor Barrow everyone that is important you can attend your special day.

These are our smart boys Angus (White) and Ralph (Black). It's a good job that I love them. I wouldn't let anyone else sit on my dress :)

There is tonnes of space for them to run free and enjoy themselves. A secure dog paddock for the wandering type. There are water points and lead fix up points around the site.

If needed there are lots of local Doggy Day care companies in the area if you needed any input.

The Pergola-

The Pergola is one of two licensed areas on the campsite. It provides the option to hold your ceremony outside with the backdrop of the Cornish landscape.

There is a grassed area in front of the Pergola where your guests can sit on seating of your choice. In these particular photos Straw bales were used and draped with hessian bags for a rustic feel.

The Pergola beams are all lined with discreet fairy lights which after sun set provide a magical seating area to enjoy some time to catch your breath in between the bands set :)

Due to the location of Anchor Barrow there is basically zero light pollution making it an ideal location to admire the stars. ⭐️
