Another photo of me in action, this time at a Naming Ceremony. In fact, this was the first event I did and it was a wonderful introduction to the job. I worked with the parents to create a Paddington Bear themed Naming Ceremony for their daughter, filled with special moments and personal touches- from the ’Fairy Godparents’ making their promises to the creation of a collaborative piece of group art as a keepsake.

A rare shot of me in action!

I recently had the very great honour of writing and officiating Mike and Claire’s wedding celebration.

After the initial consultation, I created the ceremony for them and made sure I added lots of personal touches to make it a truly unique occasion. Their script included vows, the lighting of a unity candle, readings and a handfasting ceremony- just as they asked for.

About me:

I have long been interested in the different ways we mark milestones in our lives, and am always excited to help craft unique and personal ceremonies. I enjoy nothing more than sitting down with a couple or family and listening to their ideas, finding out how they want their stories told and creating a bespoke script for their special occasion.

I’m a former History teacher, used to addressing large groups of people. I gave up my teaching career to look after my two children.

I am a keen writer, reaching the final round of several competitions including having one of my stories longlisted for the Mslexia Flash Fiction competition. I also had one of my poems selected to represent Cheshire for the WI’s Lady Denman Cup competition.

I am based on the Wirral but am willing to travel all over the North West.

British society is increasingly secular, but that doesn’t mean we don’t want to mark and celebrate key milestones in our lives.

Whether you want to celebrate your love through a marriage celebration or a vow renewal, welcome new family members with a naming ceremony or blended family ceremony, or have something else you wish to celebrate- mark a new chapter in your life by getting in touch.

I provide a bespoke and professional service where I will write a brand new ceremony, just for you. Every script starts with a blank page and one of the first things I ask is ‘How do you want your story told?’.

I can also officiate at your event, so you can have it your way, the way you want it and with no restrictions on wording.

(Please note: Celebrants in England and Wales cannot perform legally binding marriages. However, an increasing number of couples now opt to ‘do the paperwork’ privately at the registry office and then have a celebrant ceremony afterwards in front of their family and friends.)
