Hazel Foxon Flowers

Hazel Foxon Flowers Season-led event flowers and flower workshops, inspired by English gardens, old paintings and the natural landscape Please see website for details. Thank you!

Seasonal floral design inspired by English gardens, old paintings and the natural landscape. I also run workshops at my pop up Flower School at Place House Hall, Ware. My work is led by the best locally and British-grown flowers and the unique personality of each wonderfully wonky stem. Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter or somewhere in between, I bring the outside in, curating naturalistic, garden-gathered designs for your event or workshop, full of texture, movement and scent.

First wreath of the season 🌿 Am very into dark chocolate brown velvet ribbon this year. And dark chocolate come to think of it..but that's every year (day!) to be fair. Looking forward to seeing my wreathers on Sunday at Place House Hall where there will be all different colours of very lovely velvet ribbon, lots of festive foliage, some jazzy Christmas tunes and, if I get my finger out, some homemade mince pies. 🎄

Enjoying the rusty tones of this year's dahlias before the frost gets them. They've really only just hit their stride. But thankfully an unexpected day at home made room for some much needed creativity and dahlia appreciation, just for fun and because soon they'll be gone...

Chocolate cosmos 😍 Absolutely love these, and not just because they smell of chocolate... One of my favourite moments in the flowery calendar. I'm crap at growing them though so thank goodness for my lovely local flower farmers.

Work in progress for sustainable restaurant in Hertford. I work from my home studio (ie kitchen) in Ware, surrounded by fields and woodland and my very neglected but much loved garden. My designs are about bringing the outside in, led by the seasonal changes in the garden and the natural environment around us and creating flowers for clients that reflect what's happening outside. I love the variety that seasonal British flowers (and fruits and berries) bring, and anticipating the treasures that are specific to a particular season, month or even week and then gone until the next year. I work with lovely small scale local growers to source beautiful and unusual varieties. Autumn is my favourite season and September is my favourite month, but then I'll probably say that about April and Spring too...
