Figure Drawing for Improvers continues with Part 2 this Saturday 18th May, from 10.30am – 3.30pm, £45
This week we will be looking at foreshortening the figure and drawing from complicated perspectives in our all-day figure drawing workshop at Arts Centre Washington. We will add shade to our drawings in different media and give a 3D feel to our drawings with techniques to create tension, interest and contrast in our drawings.
These are pics from last week’s session concentrating on hands and feet, and the workshops can be attended individually.
Don’t you think the class did really well?! It’s brilliant seeing people gain confidence and proficiency each time, and the all-day workshops really give class attendees the chance to dig deeply into a particular subject matter.
On each day we will learn techniques in the morning and work from a life model in the afternoon to put our skills into practice.
A fully supportive session with all materials included.
Feel free to bring a packed lunch with you or book a table at the Courtyard Cafe Bar for lunch.

Hollowed Ground
Hollowed Ground - Thursday 14 December, Arts Centre Washington
https://sunderlandculture.org.uk/events/hollowed-ground/
A new documentary by Lonely Tower Media to commemorate 30 years since the last colliery closed.
Using newly filmed narratives from the people who still live in the pit towns and villages of ‘old’ County Durham, we tell the story, in a feature length documentary film, of what it really means to grown up in a community ruled by coal and of what happens to those communities when the digging stops.
This documentary film tells the story of the people who live with the legacy of the Durham Coalfield. Told in their own words we hear from those who grew up in the shadow of head gear and from those who now inhabit those same streets and live with this proud inheritance.
