:: BUSY WEEK ::
I have 2 newborns, nursery graduation photos, year 6 leavers photos and a day out photographing for this week! Plus, dare I mention, brownies, football, swimming, dancing and SALT - I think I am going to close my diary for next week to try and leave me lots of days to get through my editing schedule.
I will also be emailing July brides - it was on my to do list last week but I never quite made it!

I worked late last night to get two previews out so I could have today off with my team. My weekday diary has been full every day and I look each week and think, next week will be quieter but by the time Sunday comes its full.
I’m not complaining - thank you for keeping me busy, but along with mum-life, it’s leaving evenings to catch up on admin and more importantly EDITING - aaah! It definitely must be wedding season!

:: RESET ::
After a busy half term, I could do with a day or so to reset. But no chance of that this week with a newborn, 2 weddings, nursery graduation photos, working in school and college plus the normal mum taxi runs I do each week. Maybe next week 🤞🏼 but forever grateful for keeping me busy. I will be announcing summer minis in the next week or so too so keep an eye out for those dates!

So what do I capture during your speeches? Swipe to check out just a small amount of the speeches section from Hannah and Jake’s gallery.
Of course I focus on your top table, the emotions of the bride and groom and their closest family. But then I am always watching your room, constantly looking out for the emotions on your guests’ faces. The laughter, the tears, the shock, the delight…sometimes the snoozing and sometimes the secret football match watchers.
I love the opportunity speeches give me to capture people purely candidly, their focus being on the words spoken and the people around them rather than being conscious of the camera.
I secretly do love a good set of speeches 🤍

:: HUMP DAY ::
Happy Wednesday! It’s already halfway through the half term week! How did that happen?
35 galleries went out at 8am this morning -these are first holy communion photos for my children’s school. I try to offer my time at various points in the year to capture events like nursery graduations and year 6 leavers photos - all the money made from photo sales then gets donated to school. Just a little way to give back!

Happy (rainy) Thursday! We are almost there! It’s nearly the half term and nearly the bank holiday weekend! Yay!
What have you got planned for this weekend?
I’m hoping for some slower mornings, to see friends and family and for lots of snuggles with my A-team!
More work for this morning at then a wedding tomorrow at the wonderful before a weekend off.
Busy editing behind the scenes whenever I can so please be patient - I’m editing in priority order.

:: THE ROOM WHERE IT HAPPENS ::
(Those fellow Hamilton fans will see what I did there…) the ceremony! The part that gets those nerves jangling, the big reveal, the tears and the giggles but the moment you make it official.
During your ceremony, I always aim to remain as discrete as possible…but will always be there with a “you got this” smile at the front.
My favourite moments for ceremonies:
• When you’ve both said “impediment” and can breathe a little easier
• a great first kiss - make it last, squeeze each other tight, make it memorable
• gran’s doing readings - grandma Barbara at Kayleigh & Scott’s wedding had us all crying.

Mitton is a venue I’ve worked at a lot and my next two weddings are at Mitton but then, at the moment, I’m not sure when the next time I will shoot there will be.
It’s a great venue with beautiful spaces - I have done outdoor summer ceremonies and also done it in winter and it lends itself perfectly to any season.

As I consider what next year’s diary looks like whilst across the wedding industry, there are much fewer wedding bookings, I need to take the time to stop and smell the roses.
says, “There’s an old saying you’ve probably heard many times…
It goes, “stop and smell the roses every day.”
It’s actually really powerful advice because roses carry the incredible vibration of love, and so stopping to smell them will help you to raise your vibration, and quickly shift your energy in a positive way.
But this saying is not just about smelling flowers.
Stopping to smell the roses is not just about roses though…
It’s also a reminder to become fully present in the moment.

:: THE EXTRA MILE ::
Meet Danielle & James who eloped to the Lake District last month but not before James got to witness his beloved play at in the final - the day before his wedding. Luckily, he made it back in time to marry his beautiful bride. This was a story too good to go unmentioned so I wrote the Liverpool FC program publishers and told them the tale. Last weekend, whilst at the match, James bought a program and saw their story had a full page feature in the match day program ❤️⚽️

:: MORNING PREP ::
I always revert to “bridal prep” when I think of the first part of my running order on a wedding day but actually I have done many grooms preps too in more recent seasons that I need to call it just pre-ceremony. But, 2024 couples, here’s a little tip sheet for your morning:
• get the tunes on - a playlist with your favourite songs can provide that background soundtrack to ease nerves and make for a fun morning - I love when the party starts in prep!
• allow plenty of time - I always advise getting in your dress an hour before the ceremony. Some may think this is too early but ask any supplier, you will blink and miss that last hour. Allow time for those reveal moments, those portrait shots and maybe a glass of fizz and a breath before you head to your ceremony.
• have your details ready for me: jewellery, stationery (invite or save the date), shoes, veil, your sentimental trinkets, perfume and anything else you want documenting.
• have who you want in the room - many brides recently have spoken about who they want with them getting ready - those who will be a calming presence, those who will lighten the mood, those who will do the running around
• make sure you eat - despite the butterflies, make sure you eat and drink
• keep it tidy! Bags for life are the bane of my editing life. I get you and your tribe need a lot of stuff, over night bags etc - but keep it tidy and if possible away from the room where you will get dressed - if not, throw them all in a bathroom - everyone knows it’s insta vs reality in those moments. But don’t be offended if you catch me shifting stuff, I just want your photos to be wonderful!

:: APRIL FOOLS ::
Happy April fools day. Some of you may have caught my little April fools this morning. Quite a few realised it was an April fools but I felt awful when people actually enquired - I did offer a discount on my full day package to say sorry.
Karma has come to bite me on my ass for playing the prank as I’ve having issues with my laptop and hard drives this weekend - everything is backed up so no photos are at risk - just my sanity. Over 3 hours on apple support chat and countless reboots later I’m still no closer to a resolution.
The first 4 mini shoot galleries went out this weekend and I hope, as soon as I’m sorted, the rest will continue to go out.
I hope you have had a wonderful long weekend - it’s been like a season finale - Easter, April fools, clocks going forward and a bank holiday!! Hello Spring 🌸🪻☀️

Tomorrow I will be back at for the second wedding of 2024. Rivington always brings the evening atmosphere - I can’t wait to spend my Saturday capturing Danny and Beth’s day - now rain, behave yourself and stay away until evening 🫶🏼

My full day packages run until your first dance - however I do tend to stay for a few songs after to capture some dance floor party shots - as a bride and groom you set the standard for that dance floor. Make sure you stay on and bring the party alive with your guests.
