Shelsley Walsh is the premier speed hill climb venue in the UK with competition weekends and the opportunity to hire the venue for corporate bookings, photo or filming shoots or anything you need. Hill climbing started at Shelsley Walsh in 1905 when the Midland Automobile Club had to find an alternative venue to Sun Rising Hill near Stratford. Since then, and war years apart, the Club has run hill

climbs at Shelsley Walsh ever since, making it the oldest surviving motor sport venue in the world. The hill continues to host the British Hill Climb Championship that sees cars hit 165mph in a thrilling weekend of speed, drama and incredible skill with the opportunity for spectators to get right up close to the action. Shelsley is also available to private hire, photo or film shoots and testing, just get in touch and we can talk about how we can help.

'Honey I shrunk the racing car!'

Such a cool LEGO design from Will Haimes of his dad's Gould plus Caroline Ryder went and built a similar version of the Ryder/Gould GR59 that won both Run Offs at Shelsley Walsh this month.

They're 57cms long, have moving pistons, 'diff and driveshafts too for the full effect across the kitchen table.

In 1986 Bernie Ecclestone got a select quartet of F1 drivers together on the pit wall at Estoril who'd eventually take 11 F1 titles. Fast forward to 2024 and we recreated a similar scene with Alex Summers, Wallace Menzies, Matthew Ryder and Trevor Willis (eight British Championships to date).

WINNER of the first Top 12 Run Off here at Shelsley Walsh this weekend, Matthew Ryder with a stellar 22.43 seconds, just 0.06 secs off the record.

Damien Bradley has taken the Closed Car Record with 27.77 seconds, Jonathan Langmead the up to 2 litre road car record with 32.50 seconds and Johnathen Varley the 2 litre record racing car record with 24.55 seconds.

Might everyone go even faster this afternoon?!

30 years ago at the August Shelsley Walsh meeting Andy Priaulx won the British Hill Climb Championship in the sublime Pilbeam MP58 3.5 litre.

Andy then went on to win the World Touring Car Championship three times, the Nurburgring 24 hrs, be on the podium at Le Mans 24 and test drive a Williams BMW F1 car.

Andy is now BRDC board member ploughing back his vast knowledge for the next generation of drivers.

Shelsley Walsh from 1905

Hill climbing started at Shelsley Walsh in 1905 when the Midland Automobile Club had to find an alternative venue to Sun Rising Hill near Stratford. Since then, and war years apart, the Club has run hill climbs at Shelsley Walsh ever since, making it the oldest surviving motor sport venue in the world. The hill is now 115 years old with the British Hill Climb Championship and many other cars and motor cycles visiting Shelsley ever since.

It is the hill where drivers want to win and stand on top of the podium.
