I had the pleasure of second shooting a beautiful wedding here in Portugal with Holly Clark styled effortlessly by The Wedding Co Portugal. Sao Lourenco do Barrocal is located in the foothills of Monsaraz amidst the olive groves and is the most stunning backdrop to any wedding day.

Getting Ready. I love this time to capture bridal portraits. Even though it’s challenging (I can’t lie) with rooms full of people, bags, wires, chargers and all the chaos and anticipation that a space full of people getting ready for a wedding can bring, I love it when these little moments present themselves and I press the shutter.

Kirsty & Richard got married at The Secret Barn in Sussex. Think Darling Buds of May meets Swallows & Amazons. It’s a place for laid back creative souls who love big blousy flowers, apple orchard ceremonies & wonky barns filled with more fairy lights than space. This photo is my website banner because my love runs deep. Flowers filling the frame and a gentle blurry kiss behind because who doesn’t like one of those.

I brought my film camera along with me to Sophie & Antony’s beautiful Lake Como wedding at Relaid Villa Vittoria and I got the scans back today. Each time I just fall in love with film more and more and it’s so special to be able to give them this lovely little surprise after delivering their gallery.

I try and second shoot for other photographers when I get the chance. It gives you the chance to stand back and observe more freely without the pressures of being the main photographer and I have learnt so much by working alongside creatives I admire. The amazing Holly Clark taught me to slow down, wait and only press the shutter when the moment is ready. This is me doing that.

Watching … always …. Do I sound like a stalker !?😂 but in a non-terrifying way, once all the organising of group shots and all that stuff is done, my favourite part is to have the time to observe… to soak in the actual moments …. And if I had one tip to give, it would be to try to keep your group shots to a minimum, the joy of the day will be unfolding around you - in the distance - along with the food and drinks and, if I had another tip, it would be to always position yourself within arms reach of the food and the drinks ! X

I love photographing people, whether I’m at a wedding or in a bustling city, human nature can be beautiful to watch. Whether it’s a small gesture of love or kindness, a creative soul shining through or the warmth of sisterhood it feels good to still be able to see it in a world that can feel so hard and fragmented at times. These are those who made my heart happy in Florence.
