Viva Voce is an established popular bilingual literary event bases in Wrexham and hosted By local Poet and Author Paul Clifton. the events offer a platform for writers and poets to voice and or perform their creative words to audience members while celebrating the Welsh and English language. From professional writers/poets to those starting out or for those who write in their spare time. Viva Vo
ce offers a warm welcome to all who attend these bilingual evenings. Viva Voce launched in 2012 co organised and hosted until recently by Paul Clifton and Aled Lewis Evens. Since 2012 has become a popular staple within Wrexham's literary culture. Past events have featured on Welsh channel S4c, appearances from Alys Conran and Les Barker and currently is an event of Wrexham's Carnival of Words festival.
2020 saw the first publication of Viva Voce's bilingual Welsh and English collection "The Freedom of the Mind", with each poem written by poets who have performed at the Viva Voce events.

Viva Voce is an established bilingual literary open mic event - a celebration of the English and Welsh language held on the border town of Wrexham N.Wales at the welcoming Stockwell Cafe situated at the St Christopher’s school site. The events are hosted by local Poet and Author Paul Clifton.
In Brief - Viva Voce & Paul
Paul Clifton is an established self-published Author, Poet and writer living in the N.Wales area. His books have ranked high on Amazon Kindle with praise from renowned poets on his writing skills. He often performs his work around Wrexham and the North West region at various literary events and festivals. He is often on Wrexham's local radio station reading his poems and talking about the latest literary events happening in or around Wrexham.
Paul is an ambitious writer who gets great pleasure from splashing his creative literary mind and imagination onto paper sometimes allowing the reader to put their own interpretations into the poetry and stories he has written. His publications to date are Slices of Life - Short Stories & Poems (2011), My Heart Bleeds Ink (2017). Other collaborative collections Paul's poems feature in is Unheard (2016) Fragile Things (2019).
Paul took over the duties of organising and hosting the popular and established Viva Voce literary open mic sessions. Though Paul co founded, organised and on occasions co-presented these events with Aled Lewis Evans. This is his first hosting duties going solo. He has proven popular among audiences of regular and new readers to the event. Paul is very proud of the work that he and Aled have achieved over the past 7 years to ensure that Viva Voce has strong connections in the literary community across Wrexham.
Since Viva Voce launched in 2012 it has proven popular locally and nationally, appeared on the Welsh Channel s4C and for the past three years Viva Voce has been part of The Carnival of Words event, which has had the likes of Alys Conran, and Les Barker guest read.
