LOFT EXPERT GUIDANCE | 5 insider tips for your wedding gown search journey:
1. It is less a love-at-first-sight but more a process of elimination type of journey. Leave enough time to do proper research and try on different silhouettes to ascertain what you like and what works on you.
2. Choose a maximum of five bridal boutiques that resonate with your personal style. Schedule appointments with them, and leave your favourite store to the very end.
3. Don’t bring an entourage to your appointments. Keep your support crew to two whose style opinion you value the most. Having too many opinions can complicate the decision process - from experience, brides have often left feeling confused (and at times upset) when there are too many people present at their appointments.
4. Choose a dress that makes you look and feel beautiful at your current weight. Don’t go for something that might look good on you after you lose 10 pounds. Ultimately, you should never be stressed about losing weight for your wedding. Don’t attempt a drastic weight loss by using your dream dress as the stick.
5. Let your heart and your gut choose. You’ll recognise “the one” when you see her. This is your day, not anyone else’s.
