中國異見藝術家艾未未今日在instagram貼出一張匯豐銀行香港總行的黑白照，寫出其向匯豐銀行申請戶口被拒。
艾未未指自己身在香港，自己向匯豐銀行申請開辦戶口，被銀行總部以「商業決定」為由拒絕。艾未末指自己從未在北京遇上同類事情，嘲諷香港實行「一國一制」更佳。(發帖原文：I'm in Hong Kong, trying to open an account at HSBC. Maybe "one country, one system" is better.)
事件曝光後，一眾網民在twitter向艾未未了解，其中有人問及他是想開設個人戶口或是甚他戶口，艾未未透露自己原想開設個人戶口。《蘋果》記者嘗試打電話聯絡艾未未，惟其手機已關機。
匯豐銀行回覆《蘋果》表示，基於私隱理由，不會針對個別客人或賬戶作出評論，但強調該行不會因為個人的政治立場，而拒絕開戶。
