Norma Wilson the general manager of the Wineport Lodge in Glasson with yours truly Seán Browne last Sunday. I was at a Birthday party and I asked for Norma and fair play she came over to say hello, I did her wedding video back in May 1992 when she married Ðermot Griffin from Ballymoe. I was delighted to meet up with her for the chat. Norma runs a great show at the Wineport Lodge we all had a great evening and most enjoyable. We look forward to calling back again soon

Maria Hester & Jòhn Lynch Wedding Day.

I started in Johns house and we had great fun. Jòhn admitted that the fact we had our eye of the ball made things more relaxing and enjoyable. I then visited Maria’s. Home and everybody was in great form. The weather was good and it made all the difference. The ceremony was in Trien Church and. Fr Jòhn Mc Manus was the man in charge, we are so
Lucky to have him as our local Priest.
The reception was in the Castlecourt in Westport and they certainly know how to do it. The Band was Hebie Jebies a great wedding band. I worked on until 12.
I would like to wish Marie and Jòhn a long and happy life together.

I was delighted to meet these women from Tulsk out for a walk around Ballinlough Lake this evening, Patricia Ownes,Bernie Kearney, and Mary Scott, lucky enough they just missed the big shower of rain, they are all looking mighty. I always think the girls from the Exchange remain friends long after Castlerea went automatic in 1986.

Fr Dominick Gillooly RIP

I was so sorry to hear of the death of Fr Dominick Gillooly. I have known him since he was my Teacher. The subject was Irish and to be honest my worst. I remember plastering my hand up so that I would be asked at the oral exam about my accident and it worked. I must say everybody liked him, he was very human and a great Priest. I hope to attend his funeral in Sligo, he was the most senior Priest in age in the Diocese of Elphin The photo below was a selfie we took the last time I called to see him in St Anne’s he had two other Brothers Priests Tommy and Peter. I offer my deepest sympathy to all Dominick’s family may his gentle soul RIP

Michael Coyne RIP
Michael passed away this morning at the age of 107. He died peacefully and I was happy to hear he did not suffer. Michael was the nearest to a Saint and if Heaven is a place Michael will have top spot.
Michael will be reposing in Higgins and Sons Funeral Home, Ballinameen (F52 RC58) on Wednesday, the 22nd of May, from 5pm to 7:30pm, to arrive to the Church of the Sacred Heart, Fairymount (F45 F702) for 8pm. Funeral mass will take place at 12 Noon Thursday, the 23th of May, with burial afterwards to Fairymount Cemetery.
May Michael’s Soul Rest in Peace

Maria & David

I had the wedding of Maria and David recently. I started in David’s home and little did I know that his Uncle PJ was with Mark Kelly getting the pit ready for the Locomotive A*5 in the Railway Museum it’s a small World. I. Was delighted to meet him again
We had great fun with David at his home especially with him on the tractor. Then away to Kilkerrin and the Ceremony was performed by Fr Tommy Cummins a gentleman. Maria the Bride was on tjme and looked fantastic, the ceremony was beautiful. We stoped for photographs in Mountbeallew Woods with Alan Hunt as Photographer and so easy to work with. The reception was in The Shearwater Hotel in Ballinasloe and the band was the Conquerors one of the best for a wedding. The day flew and everybody enjoyed the day.
I would like to wish Maria and David a long and happy life together.

Sean Duignan and Sean Browne this photo was taken at Sean’s 50th Birthday Party last night in Mc Gortys. It was a pleasure for all our family to attend because Sean worked with us for 11 years and you could not have a nicer fellow and Gentleman to work with, never complained and was always most positive about life, and above all most obliging The party started in Hells Kitchen with lots of surprises as soon as we arrived in Mc Gortys we were welcomed by Lorna and Pat and treated to a drink on the house. They are very lucky to have Sean as part of there team, everyone loves Seán.
Wishing Seán a very Happy Birthday and looking forward to your Big Day before I retire from the Videos next year.

Ignatius Gannon and Joe Healys last Day.
The last day of trading is to day 4th May for Ignatius Gannon’s Butchr Shop. He started in November 1968 the month before my parents opened The Castle Inn imagine 55 years ago.
Wishing Ignatius and Joe a very happy retirement. They are going to be missed two gentlemen. God Bless them both with good health for many years to come.
