Afterschool Assistants required for West Wood Club Leopardstown Childcare Service.

Some of the main duties and responsibilities will be:

- Assisting and supervising homework
- Organizing collections from local schools
- Arranging extracurricular activities with the children
- Planning and carrying out fun activities based on the children's interests
- Utilizing our top-class facilities with the children eg. swimming pool, Fitzone, 7 indoor tennis court



To be successful in this position, you must have:

- A love for working with school-aged children
- Childcare qualification, minimum Level 5 ideal but not necessary
- Fluent English.
- The ability to multi-task, use own initiative and work as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Enthusiasm, creativity, flexibility, and initiative.
- Professional attitude and motivated to provide high-quality interactions, environments, and experiences.

Our preschool children have well and truly settled back in! They've been busy doing activities that focus on their hand-eye co-ordination and their fine motor skills! 😊

Our Summer Camps are well and truly underway! The children have enjoyed doing baking, arts and crafts and even got to do swimming! 😊

After a strange year, our staff have said goodbye to their ECCE and Afterschool children for the summer! The staff all sat down to a well deserved breakfast, to thank them for all of their hard work this year!

Our After-school children and preschool children did The Great Irish Bake to raise money for Temple Street and CHI Crumlin. They baked muffins and cookies and had great fun!

Here are our Junior Preschool using mirrors and magnifying glasses to explore the body. They looked at their hands, feet and facial features through the magnifying glass then looked at how they looked normally with a mirror! They had great fun. This links in with Aistear's Exploring and thinking theme!

Here are some of our Junior Preschool children doing an obstacle course. They are working on their coordination, concentration and their gross motor skills by hopping, jumping, and running across the ladder!

Did you know that we offer free preschool places with the ECCE scheme? We are now taking places for September 2021!

Here are James and Jack from our Junior Preschool room, they told their teachers what their favourite dinners are and they got to express themselves by being a waiter and customer in their restaurant! Doing dress up and role play is an excellent way for children to explore and express themselves creatively and imaginatively!

Did you know that our after-school has many perks? These go-carts in our Formula Fitzone for children are on of them! With an activity like this, children get to explore new opportunities to help them develop their concentration skills, social skills and problem solving skills but most importantly, they are encouraged to have fun with their friends!
