The Flowerfield is located in Tinahely Co. All my cut flowers and foliage are grown here. FRESH FLOWERS

My focus lies on scented cottage garden varieties: scented Roses, Poppies, Cosmos, Cornflowers, Sweet Peas to name but a few. I test all my varieties for vase life and they will only be included if they last at least for 7 days, however many last longer. Although not currently or

ganically certified, I try to grow the flowers in accordance to organic principles. Every bunch of flowers is unique and flower combinations change throughout the season and from week to week and year to year. I will try to add scent when ever possible. DRIED FLOWERS & WREATHS

I trained as a landscape architect and work on a consultancy basis for Carlow County Council. This can range from a detailed plan for a new garden to a few suggestions to improve colour, focal points or wild life in an established garden.

This week's bouquets will be made with Kay's flowers from in Co. Wexford mixed with whatever I have left here in Tinahely. Early and late in the season I need to supplement my own flowers and it is great to have fellow flower growers to turn to. Check out to find a grower near you. Lismore Cathedral - a truly beautiful church. All flowers came from the private garden at Saterbridge House. It has been such a privilege to decorate the house and the church. All arrangements are foam free and local. Thank you also to Carmel for all her hard work.

Corsage from today's wedding. I took inspiration from Mariah's method to dismantle the flowers and then re-assemble them, dried behind glass. For my corsage I used fresh flowers and I wanted to add cornflower blue 💙 without overwhelming the mini arrangement. Using just a few cornflower petals really works - don't you think?

Although my flowers in the field really need the rain it is always challenging if this happens on your wedding day. I moved the flower arch inside so the wedding party could enjoy them without getting wet. Originally the flower arch was supposed to be at the end of the bridge in Macreddin. I think the bridge also looks fab without the arch. Congratulations Laura & Sam.

All of my cosmos plants are in the ground. Usually we don't get any more frost after the middle of May. Now all the non hardy annuals need to go into the ground as quickly as possible. I am looking forward to buckets and buckets of cosmos. I have sown buckwheat in between the cosmos as a green manure and mulched with shredded hedge clippings in my no-dig system.

This is always a tricky time of year in terms of tunnel space. The seedlings have been growing on, the ranunculus and anemones started to flower. Everything needs to be watered and yet you have no space to swing a cat. I keep my tunnel open day and night so the Ranunculus are not overheating which will stop them from producing new buds. To prevent my dogs from running through it I build up a barrier at the front and back - makes moving watering cans without knocking on trays even harder. I have started to plant out hardy annuals. This year I decided to simplify the hardening off process and place the trays right beside the open entrance of the tunnels, they experience quite a breeze there. So far so good the cornflowers survived the recent onslaught of rain, hailstones and high winds just fine.

Yesterday, a few of my honey bees were out to forage. The Mahonia bush seems to be a good nectar source. Some bees were carrying pollen but this one is getting nectar. The flowers are strongly scented and I love using them in winter bouquets. Little reminder of summer for all the people like myself struggling with the cold, dark, grey winter days. I was at a soccer match yesterday in South Wexford and the sun was beaming down after a frosty night. Coming back home our valley in Co.
