Being mothers, we understand the importance of stories and our inherited treasure-trove of familial aural anecdotes. We understand the importance of impressing values in our children that go beyond the school curriculum. We want to do it in a way that is also fun. Our sessions are usually an hour long, with one story, related activities, lots of drama and loads of mad fun. The selection ranges fro
m animal tales, the classics, popular stories, to Indian writers and even little-known folk tales from distant countries. The story is enacted using costumes and props, narrated through a puppet show with hand puppets, finger puppets, masks or shadow puppets, or even conducted like an experiment in a laboratory. Spontaneity and child participation makes our narrations hilarious and exciting. Activities that follow share the same theme as the story. They include games and exercises, art and craft, music and dance, speech and drama, gardening, baking, and even obstacle races, nature walks and tea parties.
