Our guru, Chef Jon, demonstrates to you how to make Thai chicken with bamboo shoots and basil.
This video was shortened by about 3 minutes to make it less boring to watch. It's less than 4 minutes long.
Thailand uses 2 types of basil - Kaprao or hot basil, and Horapha or sweet basil. Horapha has been used here but you can use any type.
Midway through the video Jon adds some dehydrated stock powder from a packet. You can use a crumbled up soup cube instead. Also she adds some soy sauce and a little fish sauce but you can use any one you like. Using only soy sauce will make the dish look darker. Also at the end she adds some more oyster sauce to adjust the salt level.
This dish was not very spicy because the chillies were fried with the garlic.
