WE ARE HIRING

We are searching for a Groups & Events Manager. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the position is a management position with duties that will include, but are not limited to; -

• Seeing to all requests in a prompt manner.
• Creating innovative proposals and quotes showcasing our knowledge of our Islands.
• Maintaining strong supplier relationships whilst continuously exploring new ideas, products and suppliers.
• Following up on all requests to ensure that we can increase our group confirmation rate.
• Tracking deposit deadlines and ensuring clients do not miss such deadlines so in turn, we can pay our suppliers on time.
• Preparing all contracts and necessary documentation required for groups.
• Acting as the main contact for multiple groups simultaneously, whilst coordinating all aspects of multiple programmes with our suppliers.
• Overseeing the full event from arrival to departure and ensuring a smooth operation.
• Issuing final invoices for groups and chasing suppliers for invoices.
• Conducting post event follow-ups and maintaining relationships with the client to try to attract future business.
• Hosting and planning of site inspections and FAM trips where necessary.
• Acting as a senior member of the team – providing knowledge and experience.
• Availability to travel when required.
• Assisting on social media and other marketing platforms.
• Other responsibilities where required.

Working hours are Monday to Friday from 0830h to 1700h however, considering that this is a management position within the events industry, one will need to work as required on public holidays / weekends / evenings.

Requirements
• Previous experience within the local tourism industry is a must.
• Previous experience organizing events is a must.
• Sales & customer-facing experience required.
• Must possess great communication skills in English – both verbal and written.
• Ability to speak to Italian and/or any other languages will be considered a strong asset.
• Must have a minimum Diploma level of education.
• Comfortable using MS Office.
• Able to work independently and within a team.
• Must possess great time management skills and have an eye for detail.
• Positive and bubbly character desired.
• Ability to travel if required.
• Valid Driving License and use of own car is required.

A beautiful ☀ Friday morning to reflect on what was a fantastic, whirlwind event at INTER[action] in Madrid. Following Seattle in December, I was excited to attend the European version and it definitely delivered! Two days of intense meetings, fun networking, and the opportunity to make new connections whilst meeting old friends. I left Madrid with an extreme lack of sleep, an extortionate amount of Tinto de veranos 🍷 but some fantastic memories and a thirst for more... both Tinto De veranos & events.

What may seem like a quiet winter was actually a busy one behind the scenes as we prepare for the next few months. January also included a short visit to Istanbul to meet some of our partners from overseas. Steve Micallef will soon be jetting off to Madrid for INTER[action] from 11 to 13 March - reach out to meet him!

When we say we experience mild winters in Malta, this is what we mean. January and February are our two coldest months of the year with average temperatures of approximately 15 degrees. We've experienced many days of pure sunshine with only very few days of rainfall. Great weather compared to the rest of Europe!

As we close off before the final work day before Christmas, we look back at the last 12 months with great pride. This year could have been very different if it wasn't for both our amazing clients and suppliers - we are extremely grateful for everything we've achieved together and look forward to what next year has to offer.

It has been quite the busy week! Had a great few days at IBTM Barcelona meeting colleagues, friends, and making new connections. This was followed up by a great 20s Themed Gala Dinner for our client in Malta. And then finally, a trip over to Seattle for INTER[action]. Looking forward to the next few days with our American Express colleagues.

Steve has just returned from The MEETINGS SPACE in the Algarve. As always, the event was very well organized, LOTS of fun and provided high quality buyers and meetings. I really enjoyed seeing familiar faces, and making new connections and friends.

This event really epitomizes what being in the industry is about. It had all the ingredients for a successful forum, but wouldn’t be the same without everyone’s social contributions and fun spirits. 🙏👏 🥳 ☀️

Located at Tigne Point in Sliema, and on the Michelin guide; we opted for the 7-course degustation menu whilst enjoying stunning views across Marsamxett Harbour of our capital city, Valletta. It was a lovely evening as we were able to let our hair down before a busy, upcoming few months.
