The WDET 2022, The Hon. Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamed, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Economy), Malaysia, said that more than 890,000 Malaysian micro and small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) have adopted e-commerce. This exceeded the Malaysian government's initial target of 875,000 MSMEs by 2025.

The Minister also spoke about the Malaysian Digital Economy Master Plan launched last year which outlined Malaysia's plans to usher digital transformation.
