LONG POST ALERT❗️
These beautiful pictures have been lying in my gallery for over 24 months, but today, I feel super motivated to post it.
So I got the duty to serve my father land and boom I was posted to a school, it was a mixed feelings for me because I didn't know what it'd be like there but I was happy it was close to my residence and of course I was burning to pass on Knowledge from my little pool of skills and profession.
I went happily to my PPA and I was to choose between Junior and Senior School,alas I chose the latter, and I was wowed by the warm reception given by the Principal,Vice and V.P Admin, my HOD,the teacher in the department and even the Principal who came on board shortly before my POP.
On getting to know that the subject "Catering Craft" is now included in the Sec sch syllabus,I jumped at it.
The theory classes weren't much of a fun, but I looked forward to practical classes as I enjoyed them more because of the dexterity attached and the subject was more practical based.
But unfortunately there was neither a standard Catering Laboratory nor Standard Catering equipments so I had to manage what was available,at other times I took some of my personal equipments to school and thankfully I got support of a couple of friends too to ensure I gave my best in less than a year (I tried to raise funds to improve the state of the laboratory but then I couldn't achieve the goal because a lot was needed and my days as a Corps member was numbered too) so I just did the bit I could.
But guess what? I enjoyed every bit of it,although some of the students were very unserious and frustrating,however, the serious minded and focused ones amongst them got me going.
I would love to give more to my immediate community and society at large by passing on knowledge in the "Catering Craft Skill" but we need @lagosstategovt through the help of His excellency @sanwoolu19 to channel some energy into funding the laboratories in the schools for better learning. THANK YOU
