People talk about love at first sight. Our story is "love at first call". One day, this young man popped in my messages. I give all the credit to God for bringing us together. Normally, I don't reply strangers on social media but he looked familiar. It turned out that we had actually had playdates as toddlers long ago. The banter was so good we exchanged numbers.
I still remember the first day we spoke on the phone. It was that day I started to ask God if this could be it. It wasn't about what he said, though he was and is very charming. Just the sound of his voice and I immediately felt safe and at peace. The feeling must have been mutual because we have talked everyday since.
In the days and weeks that followed that call, the butterflies in my stomach grew more excited.
We decided to meet up. You can't imagine the nervousness of flying across the country to meet the literal man of your dreams. We meet up and it was awkward but only for a minute. Our connection was undeniable. He held me in his arms and asked me to officially be his girl. Knees weak and heart racing, I said yes! While still embracing he said exactly what I was thinking "This feels right ... I love you ..."
Since then, it's been full steam ahead ❤
