HON. ORWOUGH ASSUMES DUTY AS GUMA COUNCIL BOSS
Directs building of perimeter fence at the Secretariat.

The newly elected Executive Chairman of Guma local government council and chairman of ALGON in Benue State, Hon. Orwough Maurice , today assumed duty at the Local government secretariat Gbajimba with a promise to work with all and sundry for the overall benefit of the Local government.
Accompanied by Ter Guma HRH Chief Dennis Shemberga commissioner for Health and Human services Dr. Ortese Yanmar , Rector of Akawe Torkula Polytechnic Makurdi Dr. Martins Agena , Principal Special Assistant to the Governor on Wardrobe and protocols Hon Emmanuel Terungwa Iorbee , among others, Orwough stated that he will engage with all stakeholders towards uplifting the status of the local government inline with the vision of the administration of Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia.
He also stated that as a grassroot and young person, he was aware of the numerous challenges confronting the local government especially in the area of insecurity and solicited for maximum support and cooperation of all staff and people of the local government to enable him tackle the challenges.
Earlier, the immediate past caretaker chairman of the Local government Hon. Unongo Simon who welcomed the new Executive chairman at the Secretariat, on behalf of other staff members of the Local government, congratulated him on his election and handed over the local government documents to him.
In a related development Hon. Orwough also inaugurated the Guma Local government legislative council with the emergence of Hon. Begi Aondohemba Godwin representing Nyiev council ward as the leader of the house.
In his good will message, the Hon. Commissioner of Health and Human services , Dr. Yanmar Ortese, said given the wealth of experience Hon. Orwough has gathered over time in private and public sector, he was confident that he will bring his experience to bare and sued for unity among the staff and people of the Local government.
Addressing staff and well wishers shortly after assumption of office, the former PSA to the governor on Assembly Matters maintained that under his leadership as the council boss, everyone is important where he moved round the Secretariat and directs immediate building of the perimeter fence for the Secretariat to enhance security.
