Two weeks later, and I’m still riding the high from that unforgettable ADE Sunday with Todd Terry at Het Sieraad.

The energy, the music, the people—it all came together in one incredible night that will stay with me for a long time.

A huge thank you to Todd for creating the space to make this magic happen, to Robin for the fun behind the decks, and to everyone who was there to share the love.

I think I can speak for both Todd and myself when I say: it’s nights like these that remind us why we do what we do.

Here’s to many more memories made on the dancefloor! ♥️

After almost 3 years of planning and rescheduling, we finally got together for dinner. 😅

The wait was totally worth it—this was so much fun! ♥️

Wow, I’m still floating and can’t get this grin off my face.

Last night, I had the honor of closing the VIP room at Todd Terry’s & Friends ADE Event alongside Robin Drabe.

Normally, I start off at events—warming things up. A bit deeper, slowly building the vibe. Love that…

But I asked Todd if I could avoid opening for once. I was expecting maybe a second or third slot. When I received the timetable, I suddenly saw we were closing. Change of strategy! 😂

But wow, I enjoyed it so intensely. From opening with one of my own tracks to spinning peaktime Soulful, Jackin, and Garage. Grant Nelson, Hardsoul, M.A.W, Audiowhores, Plump DJ’s… I loved every second of our set.

Huge thanks to Todd Terry for this opportunity—I’m beyond grateful. Shoutout to my dear friends, Kim, Demi, Pebby, Claudia, George, Monique, Roog, Rik, my brother from another mother Bruce, and anyone I may have forgotten…

And a special shoutout to Robin. We’ve only known each other for a little over a month 😂, but I’m so glad we met and that we’re on the same page musically, we killed that s**t last night!

Thank you, bro! ♥️

In 1994, my father and I were on our way to the City Theater at Leidseplein. As we passed by Paradiso Amsterdam, my dad, being a musician himself, struck up a conversation with one of the staff members. He knew some people, and before we knew it—despite the show being completely sold out—we were invited inside.

I had already heard Emergency on Planet Earth and loved it. I was curious about the live experience, but wow, that day completely changed everything for me in terms of music. I became an instant fan. I’ve seen almost all of Jamiroquai’s shows in the Netherlands, but that performance at Paradiso was unforgettable.

I’d always had the idea of getting their logo tattooed on my wrist. I already had Prince inked on my left wrist, and my right wrist still had space. Today, I finally made it happen.

Here’s the best part of the story: Now, years later, I’ve become somewhat friends with Derrick McKenzie, the DJ and drummer of Jamiroquai. While I was getting the tattoo, done by Bas (), I received a personal video message from Jay Kay himself. 😳😳😳 (Swipe ⏩️)

I was absolutely gobsmacked. This day couldn’t get any better.

A huge thank you to Bas at Soelz Art for the ink and to Derrick for that incredible video. I feel blessed.

On Sunday, October 20th, I’m honored to be playing B2B with Robin Drabe in the VIP Room at Todd Terry’s ADE Special at Het Sieraad, Amsterdam!

I’m truly excited to be on the lineup alongside legendary artists like Julie McKnight & Barbara Tucker, the queens of House.

New York icons The Jungle Brothers and Michael Moog, Hardsoul’s ROOG, Low Steppa, Majestic, Roland Clark, Steve Taylor, Mike Scot, MC Gee, and so many more…

Love to the homie Todd Terry for the invite and the opportunity. 🙏🏽

If you grew up in a musical family with Latin roots, then you’ve undoubtedly heard the music of Sergio Mendes at some point.

Having played percussion myself from a young age, Brazilian rhythms always inspired me. For some reason, every time I think of this man, I picture the album cover of his iconic *Brasileiro* album. This record was a staple in my home, my uncle’s house, my aunt’s, and in almost every Latino household I knew from that era.

“Fanfarra - Cabua Le Le,” the first track on that album, is widely recognized as the intro to “Give It Up” by The Good Men, also known as Chocolate Puma. But imagine a young percussionist who had been playing since the age of two, hearing this track for the first time at fourteen. It was pure eargasmic bliss.

At the age of sixteen, I also visited the Canecão Brazilian Bar a lot, where I immersed myself in even more of the music that moved me. It was another chapter in my musical journey, and once again, I found inspiration in those rhythms.

Sergio Mendes was an inspiration. Years later, I continued to hear his influence in tracks by others—The Good Men, Hardsoul’s “Afrocatalans” Remix on Defected Records—and, of course, we cannot forget how his music, thanks to The Black Eyed Peas, went on to inspire a completely new generation.

His music is timeless and will forever influence generations to come.

Obrigado pela música, Sergio. Você nos deu uma trilha sonora eterna, que sempre tocará nossos corações e inspirará o mundo.

Julie McKnight and Sandy Rivera’s ‘Finally’ has always held a special place in my heart—undoubtedly one of the greatest House Classics ever. When I heard that Swedish House Mafia was teaming up with Alicia Keys to reimagine this masterpiece, I was skeptical. The original means so much to me.

But I can’t deny it got to me when I heard it this morning. Alicia Keys’ voice, paired with the deep, atmospheric production, took my breath away. The break… wow.

The original will forever remain unmatched, a timeless treasure. But this new version feels like a beautiful reintroduction of a legendary track to a new generation of ravers. A true homage to a classic.

Many of you may not know this, but I played percussion from the age of 2 until around 17. At a very young age, often with my father in South American Folklore groups and around my teenage years in various Salsa bands of my uncle Cachito Vaz.

Music was always present in the family, my father and grandfather were both guitarists and two of my uncles played percussion...

After an R&B/HipHop era in my high school years, I got exposed to electronic music. Masters at Work, Todd Terry, and Olav Basoski. These were perhaps the first names of DJs that influenced me.

Around that time, I ended up at an event where Roog was spinning. He played a mix of styles I grew up with, Funk, Latin, Soul... and then I knew, this is it. I instantly fell in love with this sound.

Music is my life, but I mostly worked in the background for other artists. But about a year ago, I started to feel the urge, maybe I should use my musicality and love for house music to put something out myself. After a few tough years regarding my health, I thought... hey why not?

That’s why I’m glad I took the step last summer and dove into the studio with someone to make this a reality and hopefully soon come out with my first release. I didn’t want to go out broadcasting it without making sure it was good enough.

It’s scary but somehow it feels good. I’ll share a snippet soon, hope y’all will like it...
