A combo that we reckons works out rather well. Proud Mary is a club night run by women for people who enjoy dancing to fresh, exciting tunes, surrounded by like-minded people. It aims to provide an environment where women can come and feel safe and comfortable. The music is a mix of soul/rock'n'roll/funk/electro/nu-wave/hip-hop. Proud Mary believes that people from all sexualities should be able to mix and mingle without feeling ashamed or intimidated by anyone whilst listening to great music! Apart from being a ladies night it is to also a platform showcasing female musicians and performers. It is a place where alternative music can be seen and enjoyed by an audience that may not go to other venues to see these acts. Proud Mary gives an opportunity for smaller local and international artists to grow and develop their profile on the New Zealand market. So come support these talented performers and help them get their name out there!
