Marlborough Provincial Rural Women NZ along with other interested groups such as Federated Farmers Marlborough Province,Creative Fibre Guild, Farmers and Shearers have formed a committee to host an inaugural 101 Ways with Wool Expo in March 2019.
This Expo will showcase 100% wool in many forms, from Sheep breeds, shearing, woolhandling to wool bales. There will be Companies showing off and selling their products, Food stalls, a bouncy castle and other activities such as Fashion Parades.
School children and Kindergartens around Marlborough are being invited to do artwork or science projects about wool, adults are asked to do a sculpture using wool. A photo competition will also be run with wool as the main theme.
The Creative Fibre Guild along with Marlborough Provincial Rural Women NZ are running workshops on the Thursday afternoon promoting the use of wool, knitting, weaving, felting and the creation of felted beads a feature of the afternoon.
