Disappointing the decision to guarantee funding for the Streetscape project was paired with an unpopular project, and the vote was lost by 1. Politics at play, perhaps. So the next decision looms: how will the new Government influence Waka Kotahi, and will the funds be released?

Meanwhile .. if a sign falls off on a neglected block, does anyone hear it land?

Isaac Construction will be using the Stanmore Corner site as a Yard for our neighbourhood Streetscape upgrade project, running Nov 2023 to Jun 2024.

After that, the site will be prepared as a transitional public space by Christchurch City Council (❤), promoting more positive community activities and supporting the Stanmore Block.

Local secrets sometimes get out. This Riccarton resident has been crossing town to harvest this walnut tree for years. It's great to see the bounty shared around (and if they're left on the ground then only the rats are getting fat), but anyone know Pashto for 'leave us a few?!'.

Despite the threat of rain some very special Persian kai is being served, made from the heart. Don't miss desert of sholezard/rice pudding with saffron and almonds and Iranian tea with nabat (saffron rock candy) just $5.

Early start tonight. Takeaways! Stay warm. Spice and chai.

It’s a chilly day here in Ōtautahi, so why not come down to Share Kai and Kōrero after work and pick up a takeaway for the whānau?

Nepali vegan or chicken curry (with dal bhat, sel roti, salad and rice), $15, and chicken momos/dumplings $5 and warm chai $3.

We’ll provide the takeaway containers; you bring the appetite!

We’re be starting and finishing a little early because of the cold, so come by between 5.30 – 6.30pm, The Stanmore Yard and Commons, 97 Stanmore Rd, Ōtautahi Christchurch.

After 3.5years in we are moving just 1.4km out of the central city to help revitalize the Stanmore Village area.

We plan to be on our new site by Saturday 4th March, so as little disruption as possible, but no loans between now and then sorry!
