Pre-ceremony check in and a hug.....

I really do marry the most wonderful people who trust me and allow me in to their worlds.

These photos sum up what I want to create with you - connection, warmth, a feeling of calm reassurance.

Many of my couples say afterwards that the process is like catching up with a friend.

It was such a delight seeing this gorgeous lady before she walked up the stairs of Camp Estate to marry the love of her life.

SMILING HAPPY FACES

That is exactly how your wedding day should feel. Beaming from ear to ear because every part of your day feels exactly like you.

Absolutely radiant because you are surrounded by love and soaking it all in.

And totally vibing with the celebrant who gets you, connects with you and has the honour of telling your love story.

These two gorgeous humans, did it just like that. Got hitched surrounded by their favourite people, and they went in to their day totally relaxed and ready to celebrate their love with some gorgeous personalised touches.

🍷A wine box the brides brother made to pop their personalised vows in and open on their one year anniversary. The wine itself was brought back from their recent trip to Italy.

💍They asked their parents to take part in a ring warming before they popped their rings on.

🎟Then they added an element of fun by choosing a special guest to pull out two names in a witness raffle.

This day was heaps of fun, and I am so thankful that these two gorgeous humans chose me to be a part of it!

The Triangle...I've heard that this traditional look, where the celebrant stands up there with you, is known as "the triangle of trust".

It's a place where I can help you stay calm and enjoy your day with a comforting smile, a quiet joke, or just a little bit of direction - remember, I've got your back.

There are times when I move out of this space; the kiss is one such instance where I am not visible - not just slightly out of the way, but completely gone!

But there are other times during the ceremony that I would like you to consider where I can be out of the way so that it is just the two of you.

I respect the space and you, and I will not be prominent in your wedding photos; this day is not about me.

So, think -

Do you feel brave enough to hold the microphone and say your vows without me present?

Would you like me to move out of the way when your partner walks down the aisle to you?

How about I tell your love story from off to the side so that you can hold hands with your forever person and experience that moment together.

Whether it's to the side or up there with you in the triangle of trust, I promise to support you and keep you calm so you can enjoy your loved-up celebration of the first day of your marriage!

So, who will you have as your witness?

You may often think that the role would automatically go to your wedding party. But you can actually choose anyone there that has witnessed the ceremony.

You could pick a family member so that they are included in your day. Or you could leave it to chance and we could do a witness raffle, or pop a pen under two seats as a complete surprise!

You just have to make sure they are not intoxicated and understand what is happening.

With my diverse life experiences, I always like finding a way to connect with a couple.

To me, this journey together to creating your dream day is all about connection. I am fully interested in who you are and what makes you tick.

Digging deeper to find something we can both relate to helps me understand you better and gives me a deeper grasp of your worlds, allowing me to design a wedding ceremony that your friends and family frequently tell me afterwards was "so them!"

Let's talk rings, shall we? 💍

While the classic exchange of wedding bands is pretty much always part of a wedding ceremony, not every couple follows tradition, and that is what makes your day uniquely yours!

If rings aren't your thing, consider these alternatives -

1. Tattoo bands: nothing says forever like a tattoo!
2. Customized Jewelry: get creative with a bracelet, necklace, watch or a Pounamu.
3. Time capsule box: instead of exchanging rings take the time to seal your vows in a box to open up on a milestone anniversary

I've even heard of exchanging gins!! (yum!)

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 The amazing Craig and Sarah!

When Craig jumped into my DM's and asked if I was free to marry him and his gorgeous partner - I was like HECK YEA!

I had met this wonderful couple at his daughters wedding, when I got her hitched back in my first season. Now I was super lucky to have the honour of marrying Craig and Sarah; and what an honour it was!

It just so happens, that he is also my hubby's boss - so the pressure was on! But there was no pressure, because we planned the ceremony one relaxed Sunday afternoon over a glass of Rose.

Their brief was - Elegant, special, and an intimate celebration of their commitment with their nearest and dearest. The venue was stunning - Camp Estate was the best location to bring that elegant vibe. And I was super thankful to be part of an amazing team of Dunedin vendors that brought their dream day to life.

To me, the storytelling component of a wedding ceremony is critical because it transforms the script from cliche to personalised.

And this comes through connecting, getting to know you, and listening with an attentive ear.

While I ask a lot of questions, what I love most about my couples is their trust and vulnerability. It's more than just listening to your words; it's about honouring the story you've shared with me and how you want it told at your wedding.

HOW TO INVOLVE THOSE SPECIAL PEOPLE INTO THE CEREMONY...

You've got your wedding party, but there are others that you would like to honour and include in your ceremony. From children, family, fur-babies and friends - what role can they play?

Children - they can announce you married, be your flower kids, hold the rings, be part of a unity ritual, pull the names out of the hat for a witness raffle or walk you down the aisle.

Family and friends - they can be your witnesses, do a reading, be a flower nan, take part in a group vow....

Lewis and Hope's relationship began when two friends set them up. A very successful set up, as 9 years later they were married!!

It was a beautiful day filled with romance and lots of gorgeous personal touches. I am very thankful that I was able to play a role in it as their celebrant.

Jack asked Bree to be his girlfriend on May the 4th....

He proposed on Christmas Day....

Then in November 2023 Jack and Bree become husband and wife.

They describe their relationship like rum and coke, they complement each other and are delicious!

Just a celebrant who is super happy to be adding her signature to the paper work that makes your love legal!!!!

The paper work is something I always make sure is stress free, by sending you a reminder email a few weeks out from your big day.

Once that email is in your inbox, you simply click the link and tick the box to say you want the paper work sent to me, and I print it out for the big day.

It's as easy as that!
