Introduction Celebrant
My name is Wayne Fellingham and like you all I have been invited here today to share with ….and … a very important moment in their lives. They have chosen to be united in marriage as they journey together from this day. They have travelled a long and arduous road to find each other. Today they make a strong and public commitment of love and honour and t

What is Marriage? Marriage is more than the exchange of rings and the sharing of a household:
It is much more than the just living together. It is the desire to truly want to know and understand another human being:
To feel and share in that person’s happiness, as well as their pain. Marriage is to never feel alone: but rather to know that you always have a friend: a partner in life that you can laugh and cry with. To know that you always have that special someone to share your innermost thoughts and fears, and know that you will be heard. Marriage is love : true love that goes for beyond passion: It is a love that you can reach for in times of crisis as well as joy, and know it will be there to comfort and to share. Celebrant
For you two people, marriage involves a loving, honest and open relationship based on the equal freedom and identity of both partners. It means a sincere commitment to share each other’s joys and sorrows, to give support and encouragement, and to grow and change together in the years to come. Vows
Groom: Do you ………… take ………..for your legally wedded wife? Do you promise to love, cherish and support her with all your life and through all your tomorrows. I do

Bride: Do you …….. take ……… for your legally wedded husband? Do you promise to love, cherish and support him with all your life and through all your tomorrows. I do

Ring service
Celebrant: The rings please
As a ring has no beginning and no end, so it symbolizes the perfection of love, which knows no end. May the ring you are about to give symbolize the unity and oneness of your two lives together

Groom: ……gives you this ring as a symbol of his love and as a constant sign of his promise

Bride: ……gives you this ring as a symbol of her love and as a constant sign of her promise

Pronouncement
…… and …… you have made promises to each other as a symbol of your love. May your love deepen and grow through all the trials and triumphs life has to offer you. I now pronounce you husband and wife legally and lawfully married. You may now kiss your bride. Sign the Marriage Certificate

On behalf of all who are gathered here, I extend to you both, our good wishes, our friendship and love, in support of the commitment you have made to each other. May I introduce …… a new family?

UPDATE:

Hey whanau & friends,

The weather isn’t looking good for having an outdoor ceremony tomorrow. Because of this we have changed the venue to Whatawhata Community Hall(Rothwell Lane, Whatawhata).
It’s just down the road from where we were originally having the Ceremony.
Ceremony is still starting at 1pm.

Leave a comment or message us if you have any questions.
Cant wait to see you all! 🥰

Some of the most important moments in our lives are marked by ceremony: birthdays, weddings, moments that honour new life, and those that pay respect to one that has passed.

Along with providing meaning and memory, ceremonies can also help heal in times of devastation or loss. People hold onto ceremonies to reflect historical or social significance. Or to show others that they are united and belong together.
