Thanks to everyone who have visited the garden over the last 3 weekends. We have enjoyed seeing you all and sharing our little slice of paradise. We still have many roses yet to bloom and the garden is constantly changing. This year we have decided to open up on some weekends at regular intervals. Keep an eye on our page for details. We also can open by appointment so feel free to contact us. 😊

We are open tomorrow 10am to 5pm. Plant sales available cash only. Entry $5 per person. Forecast is for Sunshine and warmer temperature than today !! Come and have a stroll at your leisure, take some time out in the Summerhouse or have a game of Petanque on our new court. We are closed Sunday. Looking forward to seeing you.

First weekend of the Dunedin Open Garden Festival went well. We are closed today Labour day but open again next weekend Saturday 28th Oct only from 10am to 5pm. Look forward to seeing you ! Last weekend of the festival is Sat 4th and Sun 5th Nov we will be open both days 10am to 5pm.

Only 5 days to go until Dunedin Open Garden festival starts. We are open Sat 21st Oct and Sun 22nd Oct, Sat 28th Oct, Sat 4th Nov and Sun 5th Nov. We will be closed on Mon 23rd Oct & Sun 29th Oct. Opening hours 10am to 5pm, entry $5 per person, children free. There will also be some plant sales available. Feel free to bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the peace and quiet in our garden.

The Dunedin Open Garden festival starts this year at Labour Weekend for 3 weekends. Hawthorn Cottage will be open 21st & 22nd, 28th & 29th October and 4th & 5th November from 10am to 5pm. Entry fee $5. There will also be a plant stall on site cash only. We have a couple of new projects that we have been working on !! Come and enjoy all welcome

The crocuses are out. The winter weary bees are enjoying the pollen. It has been a nice sunny weekend and we are at the end of the winter clean up. Bring on spring !!!!

Welcome to Hawthorn Cottage & Gardens! We are Jo & Craig, passionate gardeners who have created a traditional cottage garden for all to enjoy.

We offer garden visits by appointment, where you can wander at your own leisure. We also hire out our gardens for small private events such as weddings, photo shoots and tea parties. Please contact us for more information and bookings.
