With a calm and relaxed approach I will make sure your BIG day is stress free. I trained through the New Zealand Celebrant School and am a member of the Celebrants Association of New Zealand Inc. (CANZ). I live in the Nelson region at the Top of the South Island with its abundance of idyllic and picturesque venues from National Parks to golden beaches, vineyards, intimate chapels and purpose built

wedding venues. I am also available to take your ceremony anywhere in New Zealand and am happy to discuss locations with you. Once you have decided on your perfect location I will provide you with any extra travel costings. With a commitment of only one wedding ceremony per day, I will deliver a personalised and unique ceremony that connects you and your family and friends and holds you together as you make new memories and reawaken previous experiences. I believe that success is the result of sound preparation and planning. I will ask you many questions during our early meetings because getting to know you and your loved ones is what makes a ceremony intimate, unique and personal and identifies what aspects hold the most importance for you. I have a great deal of life experience behind me. I have worked in New Zealand and overseas, across cultures, and with those challenged by loss of physical or mental ability. I have worked with youth through to those in retirement communities. I will work with you to create your ceremony exactly the way you want it so that it is truly memorable for you and your loved ones.

What a great review and tips for a "homegrown" wedding and how relaxed is everyone looking in their beautiful surroundings.

It’s hard to get a wedding perfect, but according to a family who created a beautiful, rustic-themed celebration on their Nelson lifestyle block, it doesn’t need to be. Words: Michael Andrew Photos: Wedding guests WHO: Amanda, Dónal, Rachel, Murray and David Brydon WHERE: Nelson WHAT: Lifestyle...

CANZ Celebrant performing a handfasting ceremony at a marriage ceremony.

You may have heard of a handfasting ceremony, you may even be considering one for your wedding day.

‘Unity ceremonies’ have become a common part of modern wedding traditions. These are ceremonies that physically represent the bonds of marriage using things like sand, water, flower, or candles. These types of ceremonies can be tracked back for a really long time, but can all be traced back to the original handfasting ceremony.

In a handfasting ceremony, couples face each other while a rope, ribbon, cord, or other binding material is used to tie their hands together. This symbolises the union between the two people and a classic reference of “tying the knot.”

It's not often that I have the privilege of officiating in a Church and this wee one was perfect for yesterday's wedding couple. What a wee gem - and so full of family history.

A wedding is a fabulous milestone event that a couple should remember forever – for all the right reasons. A day to be surrounded by the people they hold in their hearts.

Naturally, a great deal of planning and organising will have gone into making it everything they’ve ever wanted, and by the day before most things have been set in motion.

You may be feeling excited and perhaps a little nervous that it’s all going to go to plan – the wedding of your dreams.

One person who truly has your back is your celebrant. They’ll ensure everything to do with your ceremony goes to plan, even if the weather turns ‘iffy’ or some other unforeseen issue.

Your personalised ceremony script and vows will be finalised and all the special touches for your ceremony sorted.
