The exotic tastes, wondrous aromas, gorgeous colours and elaborate presentations get my creative juices flowing and allow me to experiment and create in the kitchen. Born and raised in Toronto, Canada - One of the largest melting pots in North America, I've been blessed to have grown up with the influence of Greek, Macedonian, and Italian flavours. Also, being of Guyanese and Portuguese decent on
my father's side has exposed me to West Indian and Caribbean tastes and spices. Caribbean cuisine is a beautiful fusion of African, Amerindian, European, East Indian, Arab, and Chinese styles of cooking and I love them all! My Maori ancestors have truly guided me into who I am today. I come from a long line of amazing cooks and am proud to tell my children that my Great-grandmother was a chef for New Zealand's Christian prophet - Tahupotiki Wiremu Ratana; also known as Mangai, a mouthpiece of God. Having attended Toronto's George Brown College studying Culinary Arts and Baking and Pastry Arts, I had been taught through the guidance of great teachers and seasoned chefs. Achieving distinctive grades in Culinary school, I began to realize that I had found my talent, my passion. For the past 8 years it has been my dream to open my own business serving tasty and nutritious meals, sharing my love of food with pallets looking for an adventure. I will provide hot, savoury, hearty meals to people busy at work, the gym, or for those where life just doesn't permit the time for you to cook and enjoy a satisfying meal. The Passionate Plate's goal is to provide a delivery system where you can place your orders in advance and have your delicious meal delivered straight to your home, workplace, or function.
