Boost Events

As 2022 comes to an end, so does my focus on managing events.

Boost has had the privilege of working with an amazing range of people since we kicked things off in 2011, delivering events like Rotorua GLO Festival Sun to Surf Rotorua Ekiden and managing teams of 100s of Volunteers with Tarawera Ultramarathon By UTMB.

We will no longer be working on delivering any external client events (including these epic events listed above) but will continue to develop NZ Blues and BBQ Festival with the BOP Blues Club Inc and the Rotorua Christmas Parade with its new owners Rotary Rotorua Passport D9930.

I'm excited to start the new year following the opportunities we have for Black Label Barbecue, growing, cooking and connecting with Kai, and working more with my favourite human Shaun Branson.

There are so many people to thank, suppliers, sponsors, event partners, event owners like Jason Cameron, volunteers, family and friends like Natasha Hislop & Layla Robinson, you have all made this journey something truly amazing. Thank you.

Thankfully i know there are loads of talented event managers in our region, who will continue to create epic experiences for you all to enjoy.

Many of you will know Shaun as our Event Operations Manager/forced volunteer... He is usually the one at Boost Events making sure everything is set up where it needs to be and that everyone has what they need.

Now you are more likely to see him cooking up a feast, as he brings his amazing food from the competition barbecue scene into the catering realm.

We're stoked to have Black Label Barbecue as part of the Boost Family and look forward to offering premium low & slow, wood smoked Barbecue catering to our event community.

The Rotorua Christmas Parade is one of our favourite annual events!

Every year we have so much fun putting this together for the Rotorua community. It's a joy to work alongside the volunteer groups who build floats, dance, walk and play music through the parade.

We have always felt there was something missing... a character that truly represents our stunning region... a mascot to lead the parade.

If you have budding young designers in your whanau here is a great school holidays project for them.

Creative Children of Rotorua - WE NEED YOU!

Help us design our new mascot to lead the parade and you could win a prize pack for yourself + $500 for your school.

- Entries should be emailed to [email protected] and include a drawing & description of your mascot along with your name, age, school and a contact phone number.
- Its ok to get a parent or teacher to help you, but the design idea needs to be your own.
- Entries are open to all Rotorua Youth enrolled at any Rotorua primary school.
- Designs do not need to be Christmas themed.
- Designs will be judged on town pride + best representation of Rotorua.
- The winning design will be made into a full mascot costume that will lead the 2021 Rotorua Christmas Parade.
- The mascot costume will become the property of the Rotorua Christmas Parade and may be used for other Rotorua events.
- Those who enter agree that we may use their entry for promotional purposes.

We can't wait to see what you come up with!

Hey everyone,

It's been awhile between posts, but we've been busy working on some EPIC projects with awesome people and planning is well underway for an amazing 2021/22 summer season... on that note we think it's about time to throw one of our own events back in the mix!
