This is a healthy alternative to Fizzy drinks. Kombucha is a fermented drink made with tea, sugar and bacteria (SCOBY).

The story of how our family got into Kombucha is somewhat interesting. Our baby girl (like our other children) was getting eczema and we were searching for a solution to this problem. We came across Kombucha but knew very little about the drink and began to make inquiries with friends about it. One of our friends had already been making it and offered me some SCOBY (google it), after a quick 5-min
ute lesson (via youtube) I gave it a go. Two weeks later I had my first batch and then I began playing around with it, trying to find the method and process to perfect. Our children love it and so do many others. Back to the problem, I can't categorically state that Kombucha was the reason way my child's' eczema has gone, but I know it has helped.

The ancient drink has been around for centuries. But at less than 0.5% alcohol, it's catching on fast among young drinkers, who are increasingly turning their backs on alcohol.

ITS AIMS GAMES here in our backyard of Tauranga/ Mt Maunganui and its a bit hectic out there - super busy with 30,000+ extra people enjoying sports and watching kids participate at multiple different venues. So remember to smile, slow down in that car, put the music up a little bit, let the air run through your hair, feel the grass, lay in the sand, encourage the kids with big smiles & thumbs up... and HAVE FUN.
We can get really ROWDY encouraging our kids - so be kind or be quiet. Kids just want to hear our POSITIVE VIBES. If you need a time out - Head to a nice cafe for some eats & buch. We recommend any of the following - and FYI we only stock our Kombucha to places that we LOVE to sit, eat & relax -
When you have a reason to smile... SMILE big & bright!
Kombucheers - do you know your gut story? I am going to be honest...I am not an expert in gut health...I am slightly obsessed with it tho and have been for most of my life (40 something years)...as with most things your gut story starts with your childhood - this is where the beginnings of our relationship with food all start.
I have been blessed with parents who lived a philosophy of SIMPLICITY. They were not Nutritionists, Doctors, Health Specialists and didn't even finish high school...my parents are the rural type - down to earth people who just understand the simple things of life (eat, sleep, work, love, live). They don't waste much, reuse constantly (have had the same dish rack for over 20 years!) and when we were kids they were hardly ever excessive in their approach to nourishing themselves (both are in their 80's now!!!!). So we were raised mostly to eat when hungry and in moderation, focusing on NOURISHING ourselves NOT FOOLING OURSELVES into an illusion of feeling satiated. We ate all types of things growing up - and had home made bread and baking most days. We ate raw, we ate meat, we ate fermented foods, seasonal foods, seafood and so on. If we could grow it, catch it or pick it we ate it. What we didn't eat we preserved or pickled. So a lot of my MENTALITY towards food is about NEED not want or desire. It doesn't mean I have perfect health - far from it. But I am fully aware of my actions and intentions when it comes to nourishing my body. When I left home at 15 and went off to boarding school I became unwell for the first time in my life - developing skin irritations & terrible allergies that weren't seasonal. Each school term I would be sent home to what I would call 'health camp' for a few days of clean eating and then back to boarding school for 'not so clean eating' - this was my first lesson in the importance of gut health.
So what is your gut story? Are you being proactive about creating the that you want? There is so much FREE INFO available now on understanding why our gut health is SUPER IMPORTANT to our overall health. My bottom line is this....MOST of the time what I offer my body should nourish it & serve a purpose. I TRY to keep it simple and don't overthink it too much. Don't think punishment - go for nourishment! I love a cream filled lamington or sweet pastry every so often. I don't deny myself of treats but I also don't reward myself on a daily basis. So - even with Kombucha we need to be informed & drink with purpose...decide why we are drinking it and take into consideration how it is supporting us to be nourished.
Here at Papa's Kombucha we always try to do "all things with great ❤️" and advise our customers to TRUST YOUR GUT xox Gail (Co-Founder)

People often ask us why we don't have more variety of flavours in our buch or why we don't make our flavours a little bit more exciting...WELL our standard answer is this. In the past four years we tinkered with MULTIPLE flavours - put those flavours out to our core market/ our solid followers who have been buying our booch when we were selling from our home back in 2014! The re-occurring feedback was - keep it simple...our customers liked the basic flavours and we were able to whittle down from 18 different ideas to just a few. We also started making this for kids! Little people who want simplicity in taste and not too much diversity...hence the end result - simple, basic, everyday New Zealand known flavours that gives a friendly fizz option for the whole family. As parents we know that "less is always more" - and it works.
Happy weekend and happy buching everyone xo
