There are some great points in this article about asking a friend to be a celebrant. It can be a lovely concept but it's a lot of pressure for your nearest and dearest and you could be losing out on a ceremony that's tailored to you both. It's definitely something to think about

I had the privilege of officiating a wedding ceremony at the stunning RiverRidge Retreat this past Saturday. 👰‍♀️💍

Adele and her team were so welcoming and offered amazing service. 🥰

The retreat can host up to 130 in the reception room and also has the capacity to sleep 80 which makes it a perfect wee destination venue in the beautiful Catlins.

Running a little late with the this week as I've been busy preparing for a beautiful spring Canterbury wedding in October.

Speaking of weddings, my dear friend Jess Campbell of Beautiful Bride - The Bridal Beauty Specialists x has kindly shared her top wedding planning tips with us this week from her ebook. You can read this in it's entirety by heading over to her website - www.beautifulbride.co.nz

My top three from her ebook would be these:

1. Book a trial - for your hair, makeup and nails so that you and the professional you choose (or want to trial) can can come to an agreement on what style best suits
you for your wedding day. The trial is the perfect time to chat further with the professional about your skin, concerns, and other services

2. Book a professional photographer - You are going to have the pictures of your wedding day FOREVER, your wedding day is not the time to risk using an under experienced or unprofessional photographer, save that for another time! Brides we have spoken to who have opted for a cheaper photographer are full of regret and wish to re-do their wedding vows with a professional this time round.

3. Planning and timing are everything - if you or your bridesmaids are running around, people aren’t ready and things aren’t organised to run smoothly, your stress levels will be high. This can make everybody feel anxious. Plan as much as you can in advance, keep a good record of what you’ve planned and with whom; and have extra
hands to help you if needed. Your vendors can only assume you have it under control and everything organised but will adapt and act accordingly on the day.
