“CAPTIVEIGHT”
(Eight Short Plays in One Night)
Written and Directed

FEATURING:
The Powerhouse Ensemble (Season 2)
“I’M SORRY, I’M LATE”
(Drama)
When time is too short to say goodbye, words are not enough to express your deepest thoughts and feelings. When it is too late to recuperate a broken heart, silence initiates the healing…and words still remain unspoken.
“EXCUSE ME”
(Comedy)
You can not escape reality. You can not run away from misery. You can not plot your own fate nor maneuver your destiny. But you can always go to a Cinema and watch a romatic-comedy movie, wherein misery is not a big part of reality and your destiny is just “one-seat-away.”
“CONDOLENCE”
(Tragedy)
It is her Wedding Day. Everything is set as planned. Her groom is patiently waiting for her at the Church altar while she is too far away from him…abducted by her other man. It is her last chance to save her life…her last moment to choose between marriage or “DEATH.”
“RUBEN HUD”
(Tragedy)
Dog eat dog. In a third world country of chaos and poverty, the lowest creatures of a cursed society will do everything to survive hunger and thirst. People kill to live. Money, the root of all evil, still remains as the motive behind the ruthless competition. Survival of the fittest becomes the rule of the game as our modern-day savior emerged as the top Redeemer in a Human Food Chain.
“BYAHERA”
(Comedy)
Three childhood friends compete in attaining a singing stint abroad as they audition for a slot in Miss Janice`s Cruise Ship Agency. Old friends become fierce opponents as they cogitate the past, deserting present relationships…just to get what they want.
“KOREAN BAG”
(Comedy)
Two strangers meet in a very unexpected situation under a raging snow at Namsan Mountain, Seoul, Korea. An Overseas Filipino Worker is maliciously accused of theft by a young Korean lad. A “comedy of errors” takes place as the truth is revealed in a heightened banter of cultural differences.
“KATLEYA”
(Dark Comedy)
The search for the perfect “Kasambahay” (Housemaid) is on! And a famous wealthy photographer, Mr. Packer, is on his last minute of judging whom to declare as the winner. An epiphany of horror is unlocked when a young domestic worker named Katleya discerned the truth behind the searcher`s darkest secrets.
“TRUTH OR FARCE?”
(Farce)
Four Superheroes with Gender issues face a catastrophic situation in saving a human being from an appalling villain. When sexuality becomes a gauge of one`s ability, who deserves to save humanity?
Join us in a night of ART and PASSION, as the Powerhouse Ensemble (Season 2) bring you to a theatrical world of experimental storytelling and innovative performance.
