(UPCOMING) EXHIBITION OPENING | Hatch Art Project is delighted to announce 𝘼𝙨 𝘽𝙞𝙜 𝙖𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙎𝙪𝙣, a solo exhibition by Thai artist Chayanich Muangthai, also known as Seafear, opening on May 13th, (12 - 8 pm)
Seafear, born in Bangkok in 1987 and based in Nakhon Pathom, is fascinated by the tactile qualities of paint and its ability to convey her message of the beauty of change and belonging. Her paintings create an illusion of motion and transformation, featuring heavily layered acrylic and polymer applied with modified piping bags, construction tools, and her hands. Seafear’s signature technique produces nuanced metaphors of the human condition, with compositions ranging from floral to Thai landscapes.
-

Her experimentation with acrylic paints and polymers showcases a commitment to pushing beyond the boundaries of traditional painting techniques. Using nature as a metaphor, Seafear aims to convey a sense of vulnerability and desire for change, reflecting her personal struggles with societal structures that limit freedoms. The exhibition offers a unique approach to painting, expanding the artist’s commentary on Thai society through the blending of beauty, resilience, and a message of resistance.

" Nguyễn’s palette of cheerful pastels heightens the enigmatic quality of these ghost-town settings, raising questions about the realities of marginalized communities amid contemporary urbanization. The artist's protagonists remain stoic, yet their intense gazes and peculiar postures speak volumes: an ode to human vulnerability, a subtle subversion of realities, born out of the interstice between exposure and intimacy."

𝐹𝐿𝐸𝒳: 𝒜𝑅𝒯 𝒜𝒯 𝒮𝒫𝐻𝐸𝑅𝐸 ~ .sg - It’s not flexing if it’s reality, Hatch Art Project transforms a gym into a visionary and innovative evening.
-
On January 12th, 2023. 200 VIP guests attended an evening of art collecting, music, and cocktails.
To counteract the stuffiness of the week’s formal art celebrations, the gallery activated this unorthodox area. The gallery and the gym have undeniable artistic connections and sensibilities. Sphere serves as a haven for like-minded individuals to connect, communities to form, and new creative intersections and experiences to be discovered. Thank you to our guests, artists and collectors for making this a memorable party to start 2023 !

Hatch Art Project is pleased to present Vietnamese artist Nguyễn Quốc Dũng’s (b. 1983, Vietnam) first solo exhibition in Singapore for 2023. Through his paintings, the artist examines the human rights of minorities such as migrant workers and transgender people. In particular, through his upcoming exhibition 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑳𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑶𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒔, the artist is approaching the lives of the marginalized due to Vietnam's rapid economic development from a social structural perspective. The plight of low-wage labourers, migrant and immigrant workers, and social complexities from overpopulation to the lack of private spaces all contribute to the drama of his compositions.
